Very nice "all day sipping" rum 🥂 super floral, fruity and clearly the sherry is very dominant but also very harmonious and makes the whole thing dangerously smooth! 🤤 only the alcohol could be integrated a bit better...

Advent calendar Australia The Dunderhut door 5. Besides wood, quite a sweet nose here, caramel and cookies. Remains sweet on the palate, caramel and vanilla, but also some herbs again. Only for the ABV I was 8% too low :(

Australia ok, but sherry scares me off at first. I just don't need that anymore in rum. It just equalizes the base material. But let's see... Nose: intense and strong. At first quite sweet-smoky with lots of old, cold cigar. Behind that, a fruit mix of cherry, blackberry, and a slight hint of papaya. The sherry maturation takes over massively here. Sulphured raisin completes this impression. At the back, strong malty-caramel sweetness and yeast dough. Despite my aversion to sherry, objectively a nice nose. 80 Palate: what is that? Does it have dosage? Or was there still a good splash of sherry in the cask? Totally sweet! Date syrup pure. Plus smoky and sherry. Maybe fig too. The Australia is hardly noticeable anymore. That's too clumsy for me. But I somehow expected that. 50 Still quite drinkable as a sweet rum though...

Australia Artur Advent Calendar 2025 (5) Hmm, the first from the calendar that really convinces! Great aromas of dark fruits and wood. Lots of cask influence! Very tasty. The alcohol could be better integrated. Reminds me a bit of the Ferroni Australia, although in my memory that was a bit sweeter and more cask-driven. tip: 15 years Sherry cask

Buttercup, fig, grape, and cookies on the nose... somehow I don't like the PX sherry finish here, it suppresses the fresher (citrus) fruit notes, as you can nicely find in the Velier Beenleigh 2015 or the RumClub Ed 20. On the palate caramel and roasted notes. Not a complexity monster.

Nose is dominated by the sherry finish, showing dominat notes of red fruits anlongside floral notes. While interesting, this feels not 100% balanced to me and overall a touch to peppery. On the palate the finish again is very dominat. All in all this is very easy going and rather approchable. Still a little too much alcohol present here, but by no means overwhelming.

Australia Advent calendar from Artur: In the blind tasting, the heavy sweetness as well as the intense smoke and tobacco aroma stand out. Very drinkable for Australia, round, sweet, tobacco and smoke - the sherry finish nicely rounds off the profile. Great Australian!

Australia Advent Calendar 2025 (5). A broad, soft nose, you can clearly smell the caramel well integrated with woody vanilla. A vegetal and fermented side but very light that brings complexity. A palate much less sweet than the nose suggested, but broad, with sherry and overripe yellow fruits with a vegetal/fermented side more present than on the nose. A nice bitterness develops in a rather long finish (bitterness, wood and vanilla) and quite complex. The sweetness of the first nose reappears at the very end.

Artur's Australian Advent Calendar #5: Clearly stronger than the previous days. Lots of sweetness and caramel, but even more wood and spices from nose to finish. The alcohol is a bit disturbing on the nose, but still pleasant on the palate.

24.09.2022 Going through samples at home. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Wood, floral, fruits, light plum, spice, faint smoke, light caramel. Palate Round, oily, wood, dried fruit, faint roasted, light citrus, light caramel, medium dry, light marzipan, light floral. Finish Medium long, wood, faint smoke, floral, light plum, dried fruit.

Sherry is very dominant, so you can't really recognize the base spirit anymore. But overall a good, rather sweet rum.

Very nice nose, but for me, totally ruined by the palate. In my opinion, too much time spent in the sherry cask. A sweetness that sticks to the mouth, so present. A pity, for me the finish killed the original rum.

At first, the sherry is very present on the nose. After the sherry has subsided a bit, the typical floral notes of an Australian come through for me. Very round on the palate and a very smooth finish due to the sherry taste.
