Velier Arawaks Clairin Vaval 2018
Olive brine, green tomato and overripe tropical fruit sit right up front, with peach and a floral edge that a few tasters catch too. This unaged Haitian cane-juice clairin is intense and vegetal but, as several note, one of the better-integrated ones — the 50.6% alcohol is tucked in well. Give it air; it opens into something fruitier and rounder than it first shows.

The best way to finish a hard working day in monselice 😏 Need some time to fully open. Very nice, solid, classic style clairin

A true taste explosion of tropical fruits on the nose and palate; alongside the typical herbal/earthy aromas, which however remain in the background in this Clairin. The finish is somewhat dry, but still fruity.

Tropische Fruchtbombe. Fast zu intensiv. Braucht definitiv Zeit. In Cocktails herrlich.

A rather changeable, elegant clairin. The nose, loaded with notes of olive, tomato and then vegetal aromas (dry herbs like hay), takes its time to deliver its fruity fragrance (pear, citrus and then peach). It slowly builds in power before reaching its zenith. An evolving, intriguing profile. The attack on the palate is more subtle than expected. Fruit is surprisingly present (apple, pear, peach, citrus), followed by pronounced green notes (earth, tomato). Aromatic herbs are also present, playing a slightly spicy role. The profile is quite round and balanced overall, with well-integrated alcohol. The finish is fairly long, more vegetal and agricultural (tomato, earth, dried herbs) but with some fruity notes of mirabelle plum and spices. The profile is drier and loses some of its aromatic presence. All in all, this remains a good unaged clairin, a promising rum with a nice fruity and vegetal combination, and good value for money.

Nose is agricole style with plum and peach alongside vegatal notes. The mouth is intense, brine and olive, with raspberry and some tropical fruit as well that appears and then subsides. Finish brings earth and more metallic brine and vegetal notes. It’s a solid Clairin, for me one of the best integrated I have tried that makes it better for sipping than the norm. Will make a top Daiquiri I am sure!

Oh yes, top this rum. Beautiful Haitian. The fruitiness is immediately apparent on the nose and you can also smell the agricole. The same on the palate, with a nice herbal flavor. Alcohol well integrated. Top rum 👍

Dégusté pépère en haut de ma montagne en italie 😍Un nez peu alcooleux sur les bords mais la bouche revient bien avec de beaux fruits, un côté floral, de la pêche surtout. Peut être du litchi. Finale qui tient bien. Très cool.

Clairin Sunday, first one I ever had. Very fresh and fruity, a fruit bomb, complimented by the vegetal notes. I can imagine a great cocktails, but I can imagine having this as a standalone. Need to compare to another Clairins. Thanks Leo for the sample.

Finale abbastanza volatile e corto. Nel bicchiere vuoto tanti fermentati. Grazie a Fabian
