A roundup of citrus and a mixture of herbs and plant part that reminds me much more of a white than an aged rum!You can feel all the Bologne cane here!I just would have liked a little more complexity!

Fresh, yet quite expressive. Unfortunately, on the palate with a little alcoholic sting.

8,1:On the nose, the first impression we get is a sugarcane honey, citrus, spicy wood notes like pepper, vanilla, roasted nuts, as cane is herbaceous, flowery and vegetal with hay and tea. On aeration, more fruits arise, mostly citrus with a lime, grapefruit and orange peel, cane gets darker with licorice, a help of roastedness, we notice cocoa, burnt sugar. 8:On the palate, the attack is vegetal with sugarcane honey, tea, hay, herbaceous and flowery cane, slightly mineral, spices like pepper, nutmeg and vanilla, roasted wood with dark chocolate, nuts and faint caramel, as more fruity tones attack our tasting buds with citrus, pear, yellow fruits and raisins. 8,1:The finish is long, dry and tannic, similar as the palate, but now earthy and with crunchy bread.. Edit:17.8.25

Relatively alcoholic in the nose as well as on the palate. Citrus fruits and clear floral notes ... light spice and chocolate. All in all quite ok but somehow it doesn't pick me up ... Nothing particularly memorable.

#4477 18.11.2023 This one is very smooth and elegant compared to the others. Really good balance. Medium fruity with roasted wood and light spices. The palate is smooth and fresh with wood/tannins without it taking over. The finish is medium long and herbal with light orange. Would have loved a bit more "kapow".

A fairly young Guadeloupean rum that offers many fruity notes on the nose, notably citrus, woody, spicy and floral notes, but above all a soft framework of sugarcane, honey and brioche for a pleasant pastry side. The alcohol is very well integrated on the palate, with floral and vegetal aromas taking center stage before revealing dried fruit and citrus. There are also woody and spicy notes, notably hazelnut and nutmeg. The finish is of medium length, concentrating on sugarcane, floral and vegetal notes, with a sensation of gentle warmth. A rum that has a lot to offer for its young age, but whose quality/price ratio remains questionable compared to other vintages.

On the nose restrained fresh citrus with hints of olive and sugar cane !The palate is initially very mild, soft and sweet. Then it switches to the herbal, slightly herbaceous to finally end in the spicy! Fruit I no longer perceive! The finish is medium long and continues the palate!A good rum that would have needed some more maturity!Amazing with the tropical maturation.

Let's see whether Velier has bottled a good Bologne here, or whether you simply have to accept a collector's surcharge. Nose: beautifully different, very flowery and floral on the nose. I like that very much. A mixture of rose, geranium and violet with sweet and sour yellow lemon, fresh orange and grapefruit as well as redcurrant and gooseberry. Fits together very harmoniously. However, it also seems almost a little artificial, like candied lemon peel or dishwashing liquid. Spicy with fresh ginger behind it. 8.4 Palate: also slightly floral here with orange peel and lime. Also slightly bitter and lemony-fresh at the same time. Salty-metallic and becoming more herbal. Is there some cardamom in there? More grapefruit and some grass on the back. A little tiring on the palate, but multi-faceted at the same time. Overall, not quite my feel-good profile. 7,8

Still seems quite young for the 7 years of tropical aging. A lot of green (green peppers, herbs) on the nose. In addition, fruity notes of orange and lime, and something sweet in the background (syrup, candy). Peppery on the palate, herbs, young wood, lime on the finish. Bottom line, not quite my preferred profile.

The rum is very reminiscent of a white rum. In addition to the sugar cane, citrus fruits such as lime and orange peel surprise you right from the start; a little pear and herbs are also present. The alcohol is a little too strong. Nevertheless, a flavorful surprise!

Quite good. However, I liked the Rasta Morris better in this direct comparison ...
