Dark chocolate and hazelnut praline lead here, wrapped around tropical fruit, citrus peel and the grassy sugarcane you'd expect from a cask-strength Guadeloupe agricole. Several tasters call it the best of the three Flora Antillarum, with almond nougat and spice building over a long, woody finish. The one snag people keep flagging: the 60.4% alcohol isn't always fully tucked away, and it turns quite dry.

The best in the series to my taste!Intense complex one part vegetal, one part citrus mixed with tropical fruits and a bit more bitter provided by the cask!Karukera with its casks always confirms itself as one of the best!

Dark chocolate, burnt wood, but with an exciting counterpoint of sugar, nougat and spices. Quite complex profile, which, however, tilts a little too much in the spicy-bitter area at the end. For rum lovers with greater Agricole-Faible than I have it but certainly an exciting rum.

I really like this Karulera! Many floral notes, many herbs, very woody, really very woody (but fitting for me here), chocolaty and grassy. On the palate it immediately kicks in and becomes increasingly woodier with roasted aromas and old leather. Then it throws out a lot of complexity with cherries and plums. The finish is nicely long. Unfortunately, the alcohol is not perfectly integrated, otherwise this would be an absolute beast! You could explore this one for a long time. Second tasting +1 point

A high-level Guadeloupe rum, which starts with a superb bouquet of tropical fruits and citrus on the nose, followed by more vegetal, spicy and earthy notes that offer a complete, harmonious and very pleasant olfactory profile. The attack on the palate is intense, with marked vegetal and spicy notes, but the aromas of tropical fruits and citrus slide onto the palate to soften and give depth to this product, to which cocoa, roasted almonds and cinnamon are added. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, sometimes earthy and vegetal, sometimes spicy, sometimes fruity, faithfully recalling the profile on the nose and palate. A very good rum, certainly expensive but aromatic, complex and intense like a good agricole rum.

I like it very much! A fresh fruity nose with light sugar cane!On the palate initially a heavy sugar cane sweetness before it spreads creamy in the mouth! Now the spicy parts come through! The longer it lingers in the mouth the stronger flavors come through paired with some tangerine zest! Very tasty!The finish is medium long with the typical grassy notes!A good to drink Agricole

#4231 03.09.2023 this was a nice blind tasting where I saw the black Glencairn tasting glasses for the first time. This is yet another nice release in this series and the price is pretty OK. Fruity with nice spices and well balanced wood. There is also a nice herbal note and you can pick up the sugarcane in the background. Well balanced and oily palate. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some caramel and fruitcake.

A tasty fruit yogurt you shouldn't stick your nose too deep into. Unfortunately, I can't get rid of an alcoholic note despite the tasty flavor, which leads to a downgrade.

I like it clearly better than, for example, the Karukera 10eme Aniv. Chr. de Montaguere with a similarly high ABV. On the nose caramel, green vegetables, citrus fruits, yogurt, wood. On the palate nutmeg, cherry wood. Roasty-woody finish.

In the Karukera I have put the greatest hopes from the 3 series and indeed: he delivers the best overall package. Beautiful nose and overall a delicious rum, although somewhat expensive and also fart dry on the palate. The (for me personally) very beautiful bottle but makes up for it in parts.

Klasse Agricole, war, glaube ich, die höchste Bewertung heute :) Ist sehr pflanzlich, auch diverse Kräuter und diverse Früchte sind hier etkennbar. Des Weiteren eine ganz leichte Süße dank Vanille, Karamell und Zuckerrohr. Holzig ist er zudem noch.

Very great nose with lots of fruit, taste-wise at first very bitter and astringent. Strongly reminds me of grapefruit peel, bitter orange, and overly burnt/caramelized crème brûlée. You really have to be in the mood for it, the bitterness is quite present but in the finish it rewards you with fruit and caramel.

Au nez je ressens l’alcool, j’ai de la pâtisserie, vanille, frangipane, orange amère, le cacao. En bouche j’ai le chocolat noir à fond, alcool bien présent, à la limite de pas bien intégré je dirais pcq ça ressort quand même pas mal. J’ai aussi des fruits. Je suis le seul à avoir chocolat mais je l’ai super fort. La finale, j’ai des arômes un peu plus végétal qui ressortent avec le bois et la pâtisserie (vanille surtout).

Oh boy, this is fun! Karukera at its best. The chocolate sweetnes evolved into lovely almond nougat and the flower bouquet explodes everywhere. This is a lot to take in but in a beautiful balance with each other.
