Longtime Demerara drinkers are the crowd here: a 32-year Uitvlugt at 64% that fills the mouth with roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, pencil shavings and dried plum. A great vintage from Guyana and a very tasty rum. Very complex, very intense on the nose and palate, great integrated alcohol. Spice, chocolate, wood, dried fruit... great cinema. The finish no longer reaches the level of the nose and palate, otherwise there would be even more points here.

Excellent Demerara rum! The nose is complex and concentrated, and really makes you want more. On the palate you will then find the perfect blend of delicate bitter notes, spice and dark chocolate. Absolute recommendation!

Small 1989 Utivlugt cross tasting: Nobilis vs. CorCol vs. CoR vs. Ricci vs. TWJ. On the nose: CoR >>> Ricci > TWJ = Nob > CC With its higher ABV the CoR is playing in a wholly different league - stunning on the nose. CC needs very much time to open up. TWJ with the darkest nose; Most leather and wood forwards. Palate: CoR > Nobilis > CC > TWJ >> Ricci Given its higher ABV, the CoR plays in a different league vs. the reduced bottlings. Clear winner out of the batch.

Venerable old and so full-bodied. Intense and delicious on the nose, totally awesome: spicy, slightly woody yet fruity. A mix of tropical fruits, especially papaya, black currant and cherry. Plus a pleasant freshness with mint, light wood acidity and a touch of vinegar. Sweetness of maple syrup and forest honey as well as toffee and milk chocolate.Palate: wow, what intense complexity. And very tasty. Woody already, but not at all distracting. It starts off tart through this, slightly bitter and immediately has an intense toasty, nutty, chocolaty and mocha-like aromatic texture. Slightly minty and and licorice at the same time. A subtle tobacco note alongside malty, dark and caramel flavors. This nose and the taste curve are already very good for me

#5344 24.05.2025 Running a few samples before going for dinner in Flensburg tonight 😊 Nose Medium intense, wood, light roasted, fruits, varnish, light toffee, faint chocolate, light earthy. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, fresh, balanced, light herbal, light citrus, medium intense, light anise, faint tar. Finish Long, oily, wood, dried fruit, light anise, light herbal, faint chocolate. Empty glass Chocolate, vanilla, light herbal, light tar, light medicinal.

Strange why this PM89, which unlike the otherPM89 has been stored the longest, has the highest alcohol content! Now, at the second tasting I like it even better! Taste-wise, it has the typical complex Port Mourant notes with borderline bitter/tea notes.

Very warm, powerful nose. The almost 65% are perfectly integrated. Deep and complex. Solvent, toasty, woody (not too much), caramelized, spicy and some dried fruit. Super!!! 🤩 Very powerful in the mouth (no wonder), woody and spicy. Dried fruit, caramel. Not for the faint-hearted, but still good. Long, dry finish, wood and spice. Great Port Mourant heavyweight. Very heavy, very old and concentrated. Prune, licorice, roasted malt, leather shoes, burnt caramel, blackberries and pencil shavings, very dry and long lasting. Alcohol quite well integrated and generally quite tasty! Still too much wood and too many tannins and bitterness for my taste.

An excellent Uitvlugt / Port Mourant. The nose is subtle, complex yet intense, with a variety of notes ranging from caramel and toffee to herbaceous notes, spices (chili, vanilla) and barrel influences. But it's the fruit that stands out: tropical fruit, redcurrant and cherry offer a gourmet facet that complements older profiles of this kind very well. The palate is equally rich, generous and versatile. A festival of spices mingles with chocolate, caramel, dark, roasted, malty and woody notes for a deep, complex aromatic bouquet. Red fruits and prunes add a pleasant fruity touch. Pencil shavings recall the distillation still. This is a masterly profile, very complete and with excellent alcohol integration. The finish is very long, with tannins, tea and pencil shavings. The influence of the cask continues, with dark, spicy, reglissé and dark chocolate notes. Raisin and caramel lend a subtle touch of sweetness to a drier, more straightforward finish. A very fine bottling among the old Uitvlugt / Port Mourant, rich, dense and controlled throughout.

Aromatically close to the comparable releases of the same Marques from 1989. Age, alcohol content and cask influence are clearly more present here, which is why it needs some oxidation before the distillate unfolds in full bloom. The result is a tart and powerful rash of the already very distinctive PM profile; the tart note has taken on almost too much importance here for my liking, but overall the release undoubtedly represents great quality.

Great Uitvlugt 89! While some of its brothers are a little weak on the chest, the oldest of them comes with over 64% and therefore plenty of steam. Well integrated, the alcohol then provides what the Artesanal rum, for example, lacks: complexity and, above all, depth and fullness in the mouth. Surprisingly spicy and woody, with nutty aromas and coffee, this Uitvlugt only fully reveals its DNA towards the end of the palate. All in all, a successful bottling!

In crosstasting with RX7791 and RX3567 the most surprising rum - a wolf in sheep's clothing.Nose: weak, barely perceptible, disappointing in direct comparison to the other two tasted rumsPalate: Wow! A stunner! What the nose lacks in depth, the palate more than makes up for, which is why the rum is even the test winner today. . The high alcohol content and the relatively long tropical maturation are clearly noticeable in a positive way.a wonderfully oily rum with bite (on the palate).

Superb COR juice, lovely complexity and very good length 😍 I have the impression that the prune slightly dominates but it's very good and very pleasant. Lots of red fruit notes too. A touch of spice on top and we have a very good tasting 🤩🤩

Excellent PM one of the best I've had a very fine difference of only two bottles of 1989 PM I've tasted that were over 60% ABV. Otherwise around 47-55% but this one has all the alcohol a great smooth taste that lasts long and develops from the cask to the prunes.

NOSE Bruleed sugars, molasses, leather, tobacco, vanilla, caramel, asphalt, baked cherry pie. PALATE: Rich caramel. Med+ body. Tobacco leaf, rich cigar notes, asphalt, coffee grounds, bruleed sugars. Pastis. Candied fennel seeds. Caraway. Plum, roasted pineapple. FINISH: Salted black licorice, charred molasses, roasted coffee, caraway, pipe tobacco. Dark chocoloate w/ black cherries. OVERALL: A rich dram with warming, dessert-like qualities, while at the same time beautifully complex and interesting. I very much wish I had a bottle of this. SCORE: 90/100

Have tasted him now three times and each time he has clearly lost for me gg. the RA bottling. Bitterness, wood notes and black tea cover almost everything. For me, unfortunately, too much of it.
