Typical beautiful Caroni flavor profile with powerful, smoky notes of tar and rubber. Not an extraordinary bottling, feels a bit wild in the glass, even after a long time. Despite the high strength well balanced with pleasant sweetness and warm, long finish.

Nose is more dirt forwards with some sour/vinegar note to it. On the palate: points for some classic Caroni notes. Unfortunately this is all a bit one dimensional and lacks complexity. Not a bad bottling, but definitely not the pinnacle of 98 Caronis tbh.

Also a good profile in the approach that emerges. But in the mouth not fully convincing. The nose also had something slightly musty.

The last one for today, a good Caroni, no idea who claims otherwise :) Caroni DNA is definitely recognizable, quite decent, but unfortunately way too expensive, good Caroni.

A Caroni I found at the back of the shelf. Unfortunately, it’s not quite how I imagined it; the dirty notes like rubber or bike inner tube are there, but it still feels a bit unbalanced and somehow something’s missing for me.
