Tasting CoR, Rum Club Switzerland. A woody nose but with freshness. Dried fruits and prune, oak, a nice acidity and like herbal candy. A toffee caramel side and fresh tropical fruits. Smoky on the palate that was not much felt on the nose. Oak wood and freshness, fresh fruits but especially dried fruits and, like on the nose, a slightly cloying toffee. The finish is short even if acidity and woodiness persist for a long time. A rum with nice drinkability and an interesting and rather complex profile.

Another sample tasting…. Tasted this right off the back of the El Dorado 12 Year Old and wow I MUCH prefer the El Dorado 12 This reminds me of a 16YO Arran Whisky Single Cask that was matured in what I suspected was a Manzanilla Cask - sharp, alcohol bite-y with a sharp citrus and literally nothing else Quite harsh as well - can’t tell if the cask has killed the liquid and/or the quality isn’t there. No flavour, no aroma, no complexity 2.5/10

Successful selection - typical profile for continental aged rums from the Single Wooden Pot Still of Port Mourant. At the beginning peanut, toast, plus fresh with citrus notes and yellow fruits. The palate adds an elegant sweetness that aromatically reminds me of dried fruit, syrup and a hint of marzipan. In addition, the PM-typical wood influences with anise - all in all, a coherent bottling, which nicely shows the potential of long aging time for the continental aged PMs.

Not too bad but I would have loved more bang for your buck. Fruit and spices on a base of light roasted wood. I like the marzipan at the end of the palate.

Trade fair review The Village 2025, Nuremberg: Well, a trade fair review is always something to take with a grain of salt. This rum didn’t really convince me. Fruit (orange peel), nutty, a bit of sweetness on the palate. But overall quite thin and restrained, with too little power. Maybe this pour needed a bit more time in the glass.

Generally, I'm not a fan of Guyana, but with this sample, the very light color caught my attention first – even though this rum is 18 years old, the color is very pale yellow. The nose has hints of lemon, vanilla, and later on leather or glue... On the palate, there was something like wood, peanuts, and again citrus up to syrup... in the end, I'm glad I tasted it, it's not my top rum, but over time I might come back to it or similar ones.

NOSE: Ripe banana, mayonnaise, coconut, Elmer’s glue, overripe fruit in vanilla yogurt. PALATE: Creamy. Vanilla caramels (Cow Tales candies), shoe polish, ointment. FINISH: Cookie dough, vanilla, baking spices. Mashed bananas. Toasted coconut. OVERALL: Much more straightforward on the palate than I was expecting. It’s tasty, for sure. Pleasant. Drinks a tad hot, perhaps. But overall enjoyable, if uninteresting. SCORE: 74/100

This one definitely needs some time in the glass to show its full potential - especially aroma-wise. I liked the fruity aromas of orchard fruits going smoothely through some "darker" caramel, sweets and spices notes later. The mouthfeel is quite oily with dominant bitter citrus peel and a bit of spices. A one that's worth trying!

A diamond that positively surprised me. Very fruity nose, with lots of citrus fruits, especially notes of orange and lemon. On the palate then somewhat typical for Guyana, with spicy notes, plenty of wood and some mineral pencil. Overall, however, not my favorite mark...
