CoR Clarendon Jamaica Ed. 3 1996
Sip this one slowly and neat — at 67% it runs hot, but the heat is well-woven. You get menthol and black tea up front, tropical fruit (banana, mango, lime), roasted oak, plus the classic Clarendon glue and varnish funk. One taster called it an "incredible example of aged rum" that still holds the distillery's stamp. Drier and more herbal than fruity once it opens.
- Menthol and black tea
- Distillery character intact
- Well-integrated 67%

How does CoR Clarendon Jamaica Ed. 3 1996 taste?
Aggregated from 40 community reviews.
Hot, minty, funky aged Jamaican pot still Most rate it highly — a complex, minty, tea-and-spice Jamaican with real distillery character. The catch: that glue/butyric funk and the strong alcohol turn some people off entirely.

Review by TheRhumhoe

I like this one a lot. The fruit is very light on the profile and I like the light roasted wood notes. ABV is pretty well integrated.

Very pleasant mint notes on the nose. Intense, spicy and some tropical fruit. Balanced yet complex on the palate. Pleasant bitterness of black tea. Little fruit and rather dry spicy. I like very much!

Does not quite keep pace with the '95 vintage, but still moves sicug at a high level. Again, juicy fruit esters, tea, mint, fiery spice, wood and some smoke - aromatically very impressive.

Exciting and complex Jamaican, where the tropical barrel aging had a clear influence. Beautiful mint note!

Extremly fruity. Similar taste of fruit is in some IPA beers.
