Millonario Solera XO
Woodier than you'd expect from a soft 40% solera — the age shows up as real oak and tobacco under all the sweetness. Banana and caramel lead the nose, then vanilla, brown sugar and a chocolatey finish. Most drinkers enjoy it as a smooth after-dinner pour; a vocal minority finds the sugar buries whatever else is going on. Easy, sweet, and clearly dosed.

How does Millonario Solera XO taste?
Summarized by AI from community reviews.
Sweet, woody solera — a smooth dessert sipper Most owners rate it a smooth, likeable dessert rum and happily sip it — the recurring catch is the heavy sweetness, which some feel flattens the wood and fruit underneath.

Oh yes, this one is really great, I wouldn't have expected a rum with 40% ABV. But due to its age, it is very woody, it also has a little sweetness, vanilla and brown sugar are to be emphasized here.

It's a sour spirit covered by tons of sugar. The flavors that survived the sugaring and dilution are unfortunately the ones I don't like too much. Not my slice of Gouda.

Retasting this one as a dessert rum and it does well at that. This is a very sweet rum in my mind and you could use it for dessert actually. Again a solera blend of rums aging from 15 to 20 years.

Good as a desert rum, not more not less.

7,8:On the nose, you know it's going to be sweet. The two aromas that share the limelight are banana and caramel. There is also some spiciness, tobacco and honeyed wood. 8:On the palate, the profile is a little more complex. The attack is soft. The caramel is still there, but the banana disappears in favor of vanilla and roasted notes. Discreet pepper makes a brief appearance. 7,8:The finish is medium. The sweet sensation lingers on the palate for some time. Vanilla and a slight woodiness, buttery, caramelized, dominate. There are some dried fruits also...

Nice Peruvian. Very complex intense wood tones. Little fruit.

The light spicy notes give way in the mouth more to the fruity (orange and banana) followed by a chocolaty finish. Overall, a balanced rum that undertakes a beautiful journey with the senses from the nose to the finish. Due to the low alc. Content very mild.

One of the first rums I dipped into this world. It's nice to drink neat in summer. But it was mainly bought as a mixer for CubaLibre to easily sip on the terrace in the summer evenings.

Despite its sweetness an excellent fireplace rum. If not the best. Balanced spicy, just unfortunately a bit expensive for its sugar content.

Tasting the Millonario portfolio with Mario Navarro: Blend of 10 to 20 year old rums. Excellent in taste, wood, oak, tobacco but also sweet flavor. The nose doesn't quite reflect what it offers in taste since the nose is much sweeter than the taste itself but you can also feel wood, dried fruit, raisins, slightly leather but mainly tropical fruit. The highlight of the taste is the smokiness, the so-called peated character which supposedly comes from the annual repeated charring of the large wooden vessel in which the rum rests for 5 years. For me, a great taste.

Nose and taste: dried fruits, chocolate, caramel, light wood note, as well as a slight smoky note. The finish is short. Pleasant rum, but doesn't really stand out from others.
Review by X-Savior
On The Rocks: On the nose Mixed Fruit and Floral notes underpinned with pleasant and mild spice and oak. Taste initially reveals a slight sweet fruit with a caramel molasses. There is a mild burn in your throat that dissipates. There is the development of some complexity, overall this is a beautiful sipper and is very enjoyable. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose it has a honey like sweetness with some light floral notes. Taste continues the honey sweetness that fades into a very smooth mild oak. Mixed it takes away some of the complexity, but it is super smooth and amazing mixed. I would drink multiple of these mixed.

Again one of those well-meant gifts. You like rum... here a bottle of Don Papa for you. Most probably know that here. Always remember to smile nicely 😉 Well, back to the topic. This drop is by far no Don Papa, but still too sweet for me. I mainly taste sherry... otherwise unfortunately not much. Overall quite one-dimensional and thin.

My favorite! I love this rum! Balanced between sweetness and complexity with its little spicy notes and banana. Totally approved, I recommend 100%.

Very easy to drink and very sweet, but regarding price-performance, if you like Millonario, I would also prefer the 15-year here.

This one is not mine. Very peculiar note in the glass. Unfortunately, I can not recommend.

Hard to give something a 100 because that would mean it's perfect... But this one at least gets close to perfection. I had the pleasure to sample it at a convention next to zacapa centenario xo and few others. This one being the best of the class that day. Like usual I like my rum sweet with a lot of aromas and this one is excellent for just that. Bit pricey maybe, but still good enough to buy and finish a bottle with a few friends over multiple evenings. If I ever buy a new one I'll update my review with more accurate tasting notes, these are from memory

From today my favorite rum, very sweet but has its own special taste, tastes like more 😁

Sugar bomb. Over sweetness hide all potential, which could be here. Disappointment for this price.

A very sweet rum, a bit of spices, orange, chocolate, but way too many additives.
Review by Motvind
Fine scents of banana, vanilla, nougat and caramel. The taste is sweet but a bit more complex than just sweet. Fruity caramel, vanilla, syrup, nougat and light wood. It is absolutely good and the sweetness has many different layers. But I understand those who think it is too sweet. You can probably imagine one glass, but after that at least I would want something else that is less sweet.
Review by Brebur
Smooth from start to finish.
Review by edouard jaulent
Very round rum, very caramelized, noticeable banana. On the palate, it’s soft and caramel. An easy rum with a medium length on sweetness.
Review by Irbis
Good rum and is ok for solera type rums. Nothing special but good to sip with friends and talks. I would buy a bottle

S 7.5 out of 10, it's a good rum, though not exceptional.

Nice soft dessert rum. For the price, I would find >40% alcohol content appropriate. For me, it is a bit too thin.

For a rum that has been on my wishlist for a long time and unable to try.... It was a bit of a let down... Flavour was delicate however lacked in actual flavours... what a young rum mixed with carnelian tastes like
