Millonario Solera XO
Woodier than you'd expect from a soft 40% solera — the age shows up as real oak and tobacco under all the sweetness. Banana and caramel lead the nose, then vanilla, brown sugar and a chocolatey finish. Most drinkers enjoy it as a smooth after-dinner pour; a vocal minority finds the sugar buries whatever else is going on. Easy, sweet, and clearly dosed.

Oh yes, this one is really great, I wouldn't have expected a rum with 40% ABV. But due to its age, it is very woody, it also has a little sweetness, vanilla and brown sugar are to be emphasized here.

It's a sour spirit covered by tons of sugar. The flavors that survived the sugaring and dilution are unfortunately the ones I don't like too much. Not my slice of Gouda.

Retasting this one as a dessert rum and it does well at that. This is a very sweet rum in my mind and you could use it for dessert actually. Again a solera blend of rums aging from 15 to 20 years.

7,8:On the nose, you know it's going to be sweet. The two aromas that share the limelight are banana and caramel.There is also some spiciness, tobacco and honeyed wood. 8:On the palate, the profile is a little more complex. The attack is soft. The caramel is still there, but the banana disappears in favor of vanilla and roasted notes. Discreet pepper makes a brief appearance. 7,8:The finish is medium. The sweet sensation lingers on the palate for some time. Vanilla and a slight woodiness, buttery, caramelized, dominate.There are some dried fruits also...

The light spicy notes give way in the mouth more to the fruity (orange and banana) followed by a chocolaty finish. Overall, a balanced rum that undertakes a beautiful journey with the senses from the nose to the finish. Due to the low alc. Content very mild.

Degustácia portfolia Millonario s Mariom Navarrom: Zmes 10 až 20 ročných rumov. Výborný v chuti, drevo, dub, tabak no zároveň sladká chuť. Vôňa tak úplne neodráža to čo ponúka v chuti keďže vôňa je oveľa sladšia ako chuť samotná no cítiť aj drevo, sušené ovocie, hrozienka, jemne aj koža no hlavne tropické ovocie. Highlightom chute je dymovosť tzv. peated charakter ktorý údajne pochádza z každoročného opakovaného opálenia drevenej vysokoobjemovej nádoby v ktorej rum odpočíva po dobu 5 rokov. Za mňa skvelá chuť.

Wieder eines dieser gut gemeinten Geschenke. Du magst doch Rum… hier eine Flasche Don Papa für dich. Dass kennen hier wohl die Meisten. Immer nett lächeln nicht vergessen 😉 Naja , zurück zum Thema. On The Rocks: On the nose Mixed Fruit and Floral notes underpinned with pleasant and mild spice and oak. Taste initially reveals a slight sweet fruit with a caramel molasses. There is a mild burn in your throat that dissipates. There is the development of some complexity, overall this is a beautiful sipper and is very enjoyable. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose it has a honey like sweetness with some light floral notes. Taste continues the honey sweetness that fades into a very smooth mild oak. Mixed it takes away some of the complexity, but it is super smooth and amazing mixed. I would drink multiple of these mixed.

Hard to give something a 100 because that would mean it's perfect... But this one at least gets close to perfection. I had the pleasure to sample it at a convention next to zacapa centenario xo and few others. This one being the best of the class that day. Like usual I like my rum sweet with a lot of aromas and this one is excellent for just that. Bit pricey maybe, but still good enough to buy and finish a bottle with a few friends over multiple evenings. If I ever buy a new one I'll update my review with more accurate tasting notes, these are from memory

Fina dofter av banan, vanilj, nougat och karamell. Smaken är söt men lite mer komplex än bara söt. Fruktig karamell, vanilj, sirap, nougat och lätt trä. Den är absolut god och sötman har många olika lager. Men jag förstår dom som tycker den är för söt. Man kan nog tänka sig ett glas, men därefter skulle åtminstone jag vilja ha något annat som är mindre sött.
