People who like Barbados-style rum will feel at home here — several tasters say the nose reminds them straight of Foursquare, all pineapple, coconut, caramel and lightly toasted oak. It sips woody and fruity with vanilla, coffee and cocoa. One reviewer called it "surprisingly complex, fruity and tobacco notes." The catch: the palate runs a touch thin and slightly hot, and the Seychelles identity gets a bit lost in the blend.

Bottle Market Bremen October 2024 A delicious Takamaka, I would not have thought. Nice notes of vanilla and caramel on the nose. Also vanilla and caramel on the palate, with a hint of coffee. I am positively surprised.

8:On the nose, the first impression is toasted oak, then dried apricot and cocoa, toffee with clove and other sweet spices and an anise. It is dry as the second nose is smoky with caramel, vanilla and tropical fruits. Certainly it is a nice combination of Bajan and Seychelles rum, where the first is a bit stronger. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is dry and woody, toasted with dried apricot, anise, dried fruits, cocoa, and nutmeg. As we could also taste some cherry, butterscotch, molasses with liquorice as it is a bit chocolatey. There are confectionery notes with biscuits, cake. Nice and tasty. 7,8:The finish is long with toasted wood, dry, fruity and spicy... Edit 12.10.25

Tasted this rum at the Sweden Rum Fest in Stockholm. The Pti Lakaz is a blend of around 2yo cane juice rum aged in ruby port casks and French oak casks, molasses rum aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon casks and 8yo molasses rum from Foursquare. In nose and at the palate it’s woody, fruity, spicy with some sweetness and scents and flavors of pineapple, vanilla, caramel, coffee, chocolate and cocoa. The finish is medium long.

A complex blend of pot and column still, aged in port and bourbon barrels and finally blended with Foursquare rum. Very nice nose, directly reminiscent of Barbados rum, which I rate 8+. However, the mouthfeel is a little too thin, as there is a noticeable alcoholic sharpness.

The nose is warm and full-bodied, woody (barrel,leather), sweet (burnt sugar) and with fruity (tropical) esters in the foreground, then coffee, cocoa and a thread of solvent and tobacco. Magnificent. The palate retains all the scents perceived on the nose in a syrupy texture, where peppery and floral notes are added. The rum is said to have been blended with Foursquare. In any case, the Barbados markers are present on the nose, with sweet spices (nutmeg), gourmet coconut, exotic fruit (pineapple), dried fruit, caramel and a lightly toasted woodiness. It's almost hard to find the Seychelles identity in this blend. At first, the palate is rather bland. There's an unpleasant bitterness, noticeable dilution and, despite everything, a touch of alcohol that throws the whole thing off balance. After aeration, the juice becomes more aromatic, with fruit (banana, coconut), cocoa, coffee, caramel and melted wood. The finish brings a touch of freshness with fruit, before falling back to spices, wood and caramel. A rather simplistic profile, not bad but struggling to create its own identity.

Easy-drinking rum, soft, pleasant nose Brown sugar, papaya/guava fruitiness, light woodiness. The taste corresponds well to the nose, lightly woody/ toasted caramel vanilla evolving towards a certain dryness. Pleasant but not very long.
