The nose immediately gives off ester aromas, it's fruity on apple and dried fruits. You also find roasted chestnut and molasses. It's quite conventional for a Guyana. The attack on the palate is soft. You find fruit notes and licorice appears, with damp wood and vanilla. The finish is short on the palate with notes of bitter citrus, spices (pepper-anise) and smoky-woody. A soft rum that lacks personality to really assert itself among Guyana fans like me. But it allows beginners to get introduced to Guyana. Anyway, two nice selections dedicated to a wide audience. Personally, my preference goes to the Belize 2011. As an anecdote, the selection was made thinking it was a Guyana 2006.
