Rum Runner Enmore KFM 1991

The KFMs from 1991 are already pretty official aroma boards, and this distillate is no exception. Incredibly dense, spices, wood, earthy tobacco notes, dried dark fruits...impressive depth of flavor. Excellent.

16.12.2022 Enjoying some samples at home with a good friend. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Wood, solvents, dried fruit, cherry, light metallic, plum, faint chocolate, roasted. Palate Intense, wood, roasted, dried fruit, prunes, light metallic, faint medicinal, nutts, light cherry, faint coffee, medium dry. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, light cherry, raisin, light prunes, faint chocolate, tannins, medium dry. Extra note. Needs to rest for a long while to really open up properly.

A beautiful heavy note of leather, wood, dried fruit and pencil aroma develops on the nose. These aromas are also initially confirmed on the palate. Then a peppery note develops...which overlays everything else for some time...only towards the finish do the previously classic KFM aromas reassert themselves. If it weren't for this peppery note in between, it could have been right at the top, but this way it falls a little short PS: I had this KFM in my glass today in direct comparison to the FRC with 51.9% ABV. The difference is marginal. Only the spiciness is definitely stronger in the Rum Runner. The FRC is more pleasing. I gave the RR 0.2 points higher

Tasted rumfest 2025, almost at the end of the show. I was very lucky, as I was able to get the last centiliter of the bottle! On the nose, there's a very strong concentration of old oak, brown sugar, prune/dried fruit, a light solvent/soap (not unpleasant). To the taste, it's thick, still woody, I'd say with roasted, dried fruit, dark chocolate, tea.

An extremely good KFM that is relatively round with perhaps less complexity but also less bitterness.

Excellent KFM. Strong, woody, oily, round.

Good KFM. Full and vibrant. Yet more youngish than the Artisanal one. Easier to love but less funk. Enough dirt and full of flavour still.

Too sharp alcohol ... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Patrne jedine drevene destilacni zarizeni na svete, ktere se tesi velke oblibe. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.

Tasted at Rhum Fest Paris, partial notes. Woody, roasted, cherry, prune... Hard to say, KFMs always work for me! Very nice release.

An excellent KFM from Rum Runner. The barrel influence is enormous and hard on the edge of "2 much". The nose is strong with medicinal notes, great fruit, rubber and herbs. On the palate, the KFM is a stunner and hits you straight away with a full body and a deep density of aromas. Like an old cough syrup with eucalyptus, mint, old wood, leather and bitters. The finish is long and modish, woody with herbs. I like it very much and it's really fun if you like the KFM profile. The rum was bottled just right. Much more wood would not have done it any good.

The KFM profile used to be just too blatant for me, but with increasing age and drinking experience I now find it quite interesting. Very good alcohol integration...

Superb Guyana! A nose of mom's glue and pharmacy, typical candied fruits, prunes and grapes, with a light leathery touch that comes through on the palate after a lovely medicinal note that then becomes more candied. Smooth, candied-fruit finish. Mazette!
