Rum Runner Enmore KFM 1991
Sip this neat and give it time — several tasters say it needs a long rest to open. It's a heavy, dark old Enmore: leather, dried prunes, old wood, roasted notes and a medicinal, solvent edge, with faint cherry and chocolate underneath. One reviewer flags a light soap finish and another a peppery phase that briefly takes over. Dense, dry and full-bodied.

How does Rum Runner Enmore KFM 1991 taste?
Summarized by AI from community reviews.
Dense, dark old Enmore, leather and prunes Most find it dense and rounded for a KFM, with big wood, leather and dried fruit. The catch: a medicinal, faintly soapy edge and a pepper spike some found distracting.

The KFMs from 1991 are already quite an impressive aroma spectacle, and the distillate at hand is no exception. Incredibly dense, rich leather, dark spices, a lot but not too much wood influence, earthy tobacco notes, tea, a bit of rubber, dried dark fruits, a hint of eucalyptus in the finish... impressive flavor depth. Excellent.

Too sharp alcohol... Enmore - drive distillery, now only a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have flavors of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excites lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique very strong and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

16.12.2022 Enjoying some samples at home with a good friend. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Wood, solvents, dried fruit, cherry, light metallic, plum, faint chocolate, roasted. Palate Intense, wood, roasted, dried fruit, prunes, light metallic, faint medicinal, nutts, light cherry, faint coffee, medium dry. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, light cherry, raisin, light prunes, faint chocolate, tannins, medium dry. Extra note. Needs to rest for a long while to really open up properly.

On the nose develops a nice heavy note of leather, wood, dried fruit and pencil aroma. These aromas are also confirmed at the beginning on the palate. Then a peppery note develops... which for some time dominates everything else... only towards the finish do the previously classic KFM aromas assert themselves again. If it weren't for this peppery note in between, it could definitely have played at the front, but as it is, it falls a bit. PS: today I had this KFM in direct comparison to the FRC with 51.9% ABV in the glass. The difference is marginal. Only the spice is definitely stronger in the Rum Runner. The FRC is more pleasing. I rated the RR 0.2 points higher.

An old-fashioned Enmore of great finesse and fragrance. The nose is adorned with plums and prunes, before letting the spices provoke the nostrils, with a dark framework of wood and leather in the background. Floral and herbal notes are very pleasant. The attack on the palate is delicate and velvety. Herbal and floral notes leave their mark on the palate, with a medicinal touch. In contrast to the nose, the darker side returns with bitterness that accompanies spices, toasted flavors, leather, plum and prune. The whole is balanced, very round and easy to drink. The very long finish combines the exoticism of the fruit, the elegance of the wood, the liveliness of the spices, the floral and herbaceous freshness and the bitterness of the leather and coffee for a harmonious, aromatic blend. A lovely Enmore, terribly good and effective.

Excellent KFM. Strong, woody, oily, round.

Tasted rumfest 2025, almost at the end of the show. I was very lucky, as I was able to get the last centiliter of the bottle! On the nose, there's a very strong concentration of old oak, brown sugar, prune/dried fruit, a light solvent/soap (not unpleasant). To the taste, it's thick, still woody, I'd say with roasted, dried fruit, dark chocolate, tea.

An extremely good KFM that is relatively round with perhaps less complexity but also less bitterness.

Good KFM. Full and vibrant. Yet more youngish than the Artisanal one. Easier to love but less funk. Enough dirt and full of flavour still.

Amazingly round KFM that does not have too much bitterness!

Tasted at Rhum Fest Paris, partial notes. Woody, roasted, cherry, prune... Hard to say, KFMs always work for me! Very nice release.

An excellent KFM from Rum Runner. The barrel influence is enormous and hard on the edge of "2 much". The nose is strong with medicinal notes, great fruit, rubber and herbs. On the palate, the KFM is a stunner and hits you straight away with a full body and a deep density of aromas. Like an old cough syrup with eucalyptus, mint, old wood, leather and bitters. The finish is long and modish, woody with herbs. I like it very much and it's really fun if you like the KFM profile. The rum was bottled just right. Much more wood would not have done it any good.

well, though it's not at the point of surprise

The KFM profile used to be just too blatant for me, but with increasing age and drinking experience I now find it quite interesting. Very good alcohol integration...

Superb Guyana! A nose of mom's glue and pharmacy, typical candied fruits, prunes and grapes, with a light leathery touch that comes through on the palate after a lovely medicinal note that then becomes more candied. Smooth, candied-fruit finish. Mazette!

Vintage 1991. With 8.8 out of 10, it ranks among the better ones I've had in my glass.
