Insanely unaged rum with infinite fruits/eggs. Best white savanna if not unaged in general. In any case, I've never had anything that can hold a candle to this bottling. Endless fun, both in a cocktail and neat.

500 g/hL ester. Extremely surprising nose very fruity and synthetic harlequin candy side. Horrible mouthfeel the first seconds (plastic, dirty, an extremely disturbing aroma that I can't identify, maybe mushroom??) fortunately it fades quite quickly to give way to very fruity +++ and iodized background. Not my thing at all, even though I liked the Long Pond high ester for example. Too salty uncontrolled side on the first mouthfeel. Still fascinating to have so many surprising aromas with no addition.

Very surprising, the nose smells like anything but rum, it smells so much like candy. On the palate, almost the same feeling. Until some markers clearly point us to rum. A nice length. I wouldn't drink it every day, but it's pretty well made 😊

The smell is full cannon red fruit, mixed with bubble gum and solvent, as well as, when freshly poured, olives. Taste-wise, the High Ester Rum Reunion skins you right out of your socks. Intense after a decent load of fermented fruit and varnish/medicine. In the finish, the fruits still remain Ewig. From the 62.5% one notices comparatively little. The price of 55€ (as of January 22) is definitely justified, considering how exceptional this Savanna tastes. A very HERRlicher rum.Edit: Abgefahren how many different flavors prevail on the palate and in the nose. Have this time still a touch of fried bacon in the nose, after all the fruit is gone.

This one was a retaste and I stick to my score from the first run. ------------- A nice rum from Habitation, not up to the others I tried in this batch, but still OK. The nose is funky and fruity. There is also a slight sweetness with solvents, tar and wet tobacco. The palate is living up to the nose with funk and fruitiness. A rather intense palate with varnish and a floral note on top. The finish is long and warm with orange zest and a smoky touch.

Incredibly intense and funky nose. Esters, red fruits, and glue. The impressions remain in the mouth, complemented by lots of strawberry. The alcohol is superbly integrated for a strong aged rum. It's really terrific how mild it is. Excellent rum that does something like this.

First tried as a Santa Maria Daiquiri with Faudes cherry brandy - a real flavor bomb! Even neat this rum still offers lots of red fruits and positively surprises. Ester and alcohol are very well integrated.

Day 21 in the Christmas calendar. Blind!There's not many of such an aromatic profile...Nose: Fruit bomb. Fermented fruits like raspberry, strawberry, honeydew melon. Fruit vinegar! Very intense and artificial. Attractive and repulsive in equal measure, making it insanely interesting. I like this...Palate: one of the few rums where the palate follows the nose.... A highly aromatic Savanna unaged in High Ester mode. The nose is concentrated and extremely fruity, with red fruit (strawberry, raspberry), ripe tropical fruit, apple, melon and tangy citrus. Medicinal notes combine with floral fragrances and the vegetal notes of aromatic herbs and olive to create a very fresh, fragrant nose. A very pleasant rum to smell. The attack on the palate is just as gripping, with strong red fruit notes (raspberry, strawberry), funky notes of esters, varnish, solvents and glue, and hints of olive, flowers and herbs that add a spicy edge to the juice. The alcohol is remarkably well integrated, without the slightest aggressiveness, even though this is a rum with character. The finish is long, sustained by velvety, ripe red fruit, phenolic, floral and herbaceous notes. Notes of pepper and leather tingle the aftertaste, with a sensation of warmth that's not unpleasant. A highly accomplished white rum that works wonders neat or in mixology.

Wow, what a board! Nose: Strawberry and red berries in general, almost like gummy bears floating in a lake of glue and solventy notes. Mouth: Similar story here, but with the distinct olive brine character you get from Savanna. Finish: Long, fruity, and delicious. Yummy. 🤤🤤🤤🤤

A salad of ripe fruits, a hint of glue, brine. An incredible delicacy despite an extreme side. Excellent. Really superb! I often struggle with aged Savanna rums but their whites and especially this one are incredible.

Right after pouring, the gummy bear / chewing gum aroma spreads in the room. I already like that a lot. On the palate, a slightly medicinal note and not as round as the nose, but still very tasty and everything the nose promised. Overall I really like it, probably even the best "white" rum I've had so far. Surely makes even better cocktails. Looking forward to the new HV Herr :)

On the nose raspberry, banana, floral notes and funk. On the palate then powerfully fruity funky. Alcohol is noticeable. Finish strong and long, tingles on the tongue for a long time. Definitely not for everyone but very interesting.

I really love these awesome, olive-like, unaged Savannas. On the nose here, more olive than on the palate, on the palate nicely floral but above all fruity (strawberry and raspberry), very funky and definitely tasty.

Rums from the Savanna distillery are some of my favorites. I recommend everyone to try especially the ester-heavy pieces like Grand Arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in a few drops of liquid for a long time.

I compared the Habitation velier HERR, the HERR 57 (2019) and the HERR 57 2022. The first two are very similar with the HERR 57 (2019) being slightly better in my opinion. Both are full of red fruit, berries, bubble gum, glue and flowers. The HERR 57 (2022) has more vegetal notes and is less fruity. This one was my least favourite out of the three.

Absolutely unique Savanna scent of watermelon-strawberry chewing gum. Also in taste, overripe fruit, watermelon, strawberries. This is a total blast that I really enjoy, although I admit that during the very first tasting I didn't get this rum. The takeaway: giving a second chance makes sense 😃

First test of a "high ester." Discovery. First nose very alcoholic then you clearly smell the solvent. First sip also surprising, burning the tongue a bit. Then the aromas release and you are overwhelmed by the amount of aromas!

Small Savanna White HERR / Grand Arome tasting - May 2026 The Habitation Velier combines the fruitiness of the 2020 HERR with the hearty-spicy notes of the 2022. The ABV of 62.5% suits the rum well, feels powerful and warming without burning.

A true essential oil. When you open the bottle, the whole room is invaded by red and black fruits, chewing gum, harlequin candy... a real aromatic bomb!! On the palate it explodes in all directions and the finish is endless on harlequin candy, red and black fruits and olive!! Not an everyday rum for sure but definitely my favorite white rum ❤

Tasted with the OB Herr57 bottling from 2020 (batch4). Both come directly from the artificial pineapple Tropifrutti and strawberry bubblegum universe. But this one is a tad fresher and preffriger on the nose with sour raspberry effervescence. A matter of taste. I think I like the OB a tad better.

Explosion of fruitiness on the nose that won’t take long to fill the entire room. Very dominant on red fruits primarily strawberry, raspberry and a little bit of cherry. Subtle woodiness from pineapple husks. The sugarcane is sweet, harsh and fresh, but eases into more palatable watermelon fructose. It’s all very cool and mentholated with a black licorice overtone. Tasting reveals the same fruits, but especially strawberry gets the spotlight. A deep dark sweetness engulfes the red fruits. Like the nose refreshing and rich in flowery and herbal notes. There’s breakfast black tea and olive brine, slightly salted. Finish is rich in red fruits, cooling and with the grand return of licorice. To me, this is the ultimate white rum.

The nose is on strawberry chewing gum and Haribo Banan’S! Back to the schoolyard of my childhood... it's disconcerting and intriguing when you've never come across it before. On the palate, it's the amusement park and its roller coasters. You go from pronounced smokiness to rotting fruits. On paper, it's scary. But on the palate, it's a slap. The finish is again extremely long on mentholated red fruits.

That famous Savanna herr, once you've tasted it you remember it so much because it is so unique. 👃 powerful on English candy/arlequin, 🍍, tangy banana candy. 👄 in the same vein with great aromatic intensity and great aromatic power. The alcohol is superbly integrated; you don't feel the 62.5 degrees. A must-have. In my top 3 of all white rums ever tasted. If you find it at its release price (55€) go for it. I only have 3 bottles left ;-(

Sounds a bit infantile, but does anyone remember the pink Hubbabubba gum ? This rum smells and tastes exactly the same - on the palate there is still some pineapple and wood - this rum is overwhelming - literally : if you use it in drinks, it drowns out all other flavors.Probably, next to the Lontan, one of the few bottles that I had to have umbedingt, but which will never be empty.Also correlates very strongly with headaches the next day.Still - how Krass that a rum manages to taste like bubble gum 😂.

For me a completely new experience: On the nose an enormous fruity sweet berry emerges with the addition of glue, solvent. In the mouth then first a delicate sweetness with fruity berry, also here a kind of glue and light solvent, as well as very young wood and/or fresh grass! The rum spreads pleasantly mild and creamy in the mouth and on the tongue! The alcohol is perfectly integrated! In the finish very thin smoke develops, some grass, a tendency to sweet strawberry and glue! Somehow fascinating! A great extraordinary rum, delicious.

Most Pineapple-lly rum I have ever tasted. Very very fruity. Papaya (including the mustiness when it's a bit too ripe). A really fun drink. Great to drink neat but probably makes a spectacular Daiquiri. Would so love to know how this would progress on oak.

Chicago, October 2022. This is an almost perfect "unaged" rum. Blasted by fruit gum on the nose and taste, with some mild funky brine to balance. Sad I don't have a bottle but go out of my way for this rum now

Definitely the best unripe I've had so far. Very similar to the matured Lord, in direct comparison, the latter is of course already better, but there are no worlds in between in my opinion.

It smells like Harlequin candy full on the nose. The mouth continues in the same vein. It's very original. When opening the bottle I found it undrinkable although used to high ester. Today I find it good and very original but not a rum I would drink every day.

Very distinctive rum, with its trademark being (in my opinion) the bubblegum like flavor! It might be the least obvious choice for sipping it straight, although it is far more easily enjoyable if compared to Long Pond Tecc or Teca marks. I will definitely try in a couple of cocktails

The nose is an explosive pineapple. Very intense, detectable from several meters away. On the palate, not quite the bomb. Nice pineapple but also some medicinal traces. Finish quite short.

It has been a long time since the last sip of a white rum. This one gives a whole bunch of red fruits like strawberry, cherry and raspberry, but also some tropical stuff like banana and pineapple. There are also solvent, chemical product and somehow light plastic scents. Looks like a kind of chemical sweet, it's a really nice white rum :)

A great unaged Savanna rum. Intense candied nose, deep berry fruits on the mouth and a pleasant and luscious mouth. The sweet and enticing elements combine well with a longer body. Undoubtedly it would make an exceptional daiquiri but also drinks super well and better than many unaged rums stand alone. Would love to have a bottle

Was my first Savanna a few years ago, which showed me esters in a whole new way. Gummy bear juice was my first thought back then. Really nice and wild ester notes.
