On this "Thursday," we're heading to Haiti with a rum from The Rum Mercenary: Barbancourt 2004 – 49.3% The Barbancourt distillery, founded in 1862 by Frenchman Dupré Barbancourt, is a key reference in Haiti. It is distinguished by its production of agricultural rum, made from pure sugar cane juice. Tasting notes: The attack is soft, sweet, and creamy. There are notes of tropical fruits, coconut, and a touch of banana. The palate is both powerful and slightly marked by esters, while maintaining a beautiful harmony and excellent balance. A very pleasant rum, carried by an aromatic intensity of fresh cane, lovely fruity nuances and a discreetly esterized finish. It is fresh, fruity and at the same time nicely spiced. Verdict: A beautiful vintage, representative of the expertise of this great Haitian distillery. With a very reasonable price (€75), it would have been well deserving of a place in our tasting next week on the theme of Anti-Crisis — especially after three days of strikes, we're right in the middle of it! 👉 There are still a few places left...
