The nose is thick and pungent. A bit underwhelming and not a huge amount with agricole notes and a bit of grass. The mouth is a different story, layers of complexity with cognac and brown sugar alongside some plum, spice and woody barrel. The finish is short and spicy with a bit of zing, freshness in the form of menthol type notes and just a hint of anise and astringency. It started well but I find the spicy wood and astringency a tad too much overall

#5052 This rum lost my review or parts of it, luckily I have my notes 😊 Nose Light, fresh, light wood, fruits, light caramel, sugarcane, faint smoke. Palate Light, oily, lightly sweet, pineapple, light caramel, light apple, cinnamon, wood, light roasted. Finish Medium long, wood, oily, lightly sweet, light caramel, sugarcane. The empty glass had spice, light melon, cinnamon and some basil.

This very old Saint James 12-year-old agricole rum truly represents what you expect from this kind of rum. Right from the start, a lively, woody and floral nose welcomes us. Then, all the way to the finish, it's the slightly spicy woodiness that accompanies us.
