Nose: Initially rather reserved, light sherry notes, raisins, plum, accompanied by woody notes. Alcohol seems well integrated, doesn't tingle in the nose. Definitely benefits from at least 20 minutes of air in the glass. Mouth: Suddenly the sherry notes are very present! As well as spices and the plum and raisin notes that come with the sherry. Despite the dominant sherry notes I think I can still recognize the typical Foursquare character. Not a complexity monster but round and strong, I like it. Finish: Long, intense raisin sweetness, round. Those who like the daring PX will probably really like this rum with >62%. For me a clear evolution.

Actually a nice Foursquare, unfortunately the aromas are completely overshadowed by the sherry finish. The alcohol could be better integrated, as it is quite alcoholic. But still OK for under 50€. EDIT: The oxygen really did him good, corrected up by 0.3 points 😉

This could be the big brother of the Wagemut PX. The finish in the 50l PX sherry cask clearly comes through and almost makes the otherwise familiar aromas from Foursquare like glue and vanilla disappear. You can feel the 62.5% both on the nose and on the palate. On the palate, nicely spicy and pleasantly woody. Fruit comes through only as grape or raisin. First impression: definitely tasty if you like sherry. But I probably have to taste it a few more times to form a final opinion.

A real bomb! With the called 62.5% ABV I had wild ideas how hard this drop would hit my tongue. But I was positively surprised. As said in the video, the alcohol is almost dangerously well integrated and only really comes through when you hold the rum on your tongue for a while and in the finish. Before that, it acts more like a great aroma booster for everything else in the glass - flavor carrier and such, you know it, you know it ;-) I had to look again in my old text about Rico’s Rum and indeed it reminds me strongly of that one, only on "volume level 11" so to speak. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find out how old the rum in “Ricos” was, but I think it was a bit younger than this one. From my point of view, that would fit, because the Noah Single Cask 001 tastes to me as described like a louder version of the “Ricos” on all corners. That’s not a devaluation - on the contrary. To stay in this picture, the Single Cask 001 is a “loud” rum that demands a certain attention and also emphatically requires it. On the tongue, so much happens at every moment with wood aromas, raisins, other dried fruits, vanilla aromas etc. that you really have to pay attention. But you are rewarded with exactly this variety and a rounded overall product that really is fun, round and free from disturbing influences. Besides pure enjoyment, the rum would surely also be a killer mixer. I’d love to try it in an Old Cuban or 50:50 with an overproof Jamaica in a killer Mai Tai. Maybe I’ll manage that in the next edition ;-)
