Nase: Zunächst eher zurückhaltend, leichte Sherrynoten, Rosinen, Pflaume, begleitet von Holznoten. Alkohol scheint gut eingebunden zu sein, kribbelt nicht in der Nase. Verträgt aber in jedem Fall mindestens 20 Minuten Luft im Glas. Mund:Da sind die Sherrynoten plötzlich ganz präsent! Ebenso wie Gewürze und die mit dem Sherry einhergehenden Pflaumen- und Rosinennoten. Trotz der doch dominierenden Sherrynoten meine ich den typischen Foursquare Charakter noch erkennen zu können. Kein Komplexitätsmonster aber rund und kräftig, gefällt mir. Abgang: Lang, intensive Rosinensüße, rund Wer den Wagemut PX gern mag wird diesen Rum mit >62% wahrscheinlich sehr mögen. Für mich die deutliche Weiterentwicklung.

Das könnte der große Bruder vom Wagemut PX sein. Das Finish im 50l PX Sherry Fass kommt deutlich durch und lässt sonst bekannte Aromen von Foursquare wie Klebstoff und Vanille fast verschwinden. Sowohl in der Nase als auch am Gaumen merkt man die 62.5 %. Am Gaumen schön würzig und angenehm holzig. Frucht kommt nur Traube bzw Rosine durch. Erster Eindruck: Durchaus lecker, wenn man auf Sherry steht. Muss ich wohl aber noch ein paar mal verkosteten, um mir eine abschließende Meinung zu bilden.

Eine echte Granate! Ich hatte bei den aufgerufenen 62,5 % ABV wilde Vorstellungen, wie hart dieser Tropfen meine Zunge treffen würde. Ich wurde dann aber positiv überrascht. Wie im Video gesagt ist der Alkohol schon fast gefährlich gut eingebunden und kommt erst wirklich selbst durch, wenn man den Rum eine Weile auf der Zunge hat und im Abgang. Vorher wirkt er mehr wie ein grandioser Aroma-Booster für alles andere, was im Glas steckt - Geschmacksträger und so, kennste kennste ;-) Ich musste nochmal in meinem alten Text zu Ricos Rum nachlesen und tatsächlich erinnert er mich stark an diesen, nur sozusagen “auf Lautstärkestufe 11”. Ich konnte leider nicht mehr herausfinden, wie alt der Rum im “Ricos” war, aber ich meine, er war ein wenig jünger als dieser hier. Aus meiner Sicht würde das zusammenpassen, denn der Noah Single Cask 001 schmeckt mir wie schon beschrieben wie eine an allen Ecken lauter gedrehte Version des “Ricos”. Das ist dabei keine Abwertung - im Gegenteil. Um in diesem Bild zu bleiben, ist der Single Cask 001 ein “lauter” Rum, der eine gewisse Aufmerksamkeit erfordert und diese auch nachdrücklich verlangt. Auf der Zunge passiert zu jedem Zeitpunkt so viel mit Holzaromen, Rosinen, anderen Trockenfrüchten, vanilligen Aromen usw., dass man schon ein wenig aufpassen muss. Belohnt wird man dafür aber mit eben genau dieser Vielfalt und einem runden Gesamtprodukt, das wirklich Spaß macht, rund ist und frei von störenden Einflüssen ist. Neben dem puren Genuss wäre der Rum sicher auch ein Hammer-Mixer. Ich würde ihn gerne mal in einem Old Cuban oder 50:50 mit einem Overproof Jamaica in einem Killer-Mai Tai probieren. Vielleicht schaffe ich das bei der nächsten Edition ;-)
