Grays New Grove Savoir-Faire Distillerie du Vercors (Whisky cask finish) 2013
A solid stepping stone for rum drinkers curious about whisky finishes. RumX users describe sweet cherry, citrus, dried fruits and light smoke over dry, tannic oak. Good value, more whisky-leaning than most New Grove, best as a focused sipping rum rather than a dessert sweet bomb.
- Great value
- Cherry & citrus fruit

Ein schöner New Grove.

A somewhat oaky New Grove. French/US (virgin) oak combination of flavours. Some PX/Red Wine/Dried fruits and lots of cherry. Not so very whisky-y but the oak might have something to do with that. Not the best N.G. but very decent still. Retry: still very decent stuff.

#4953 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light, fresh, light wood, dried fruit, light close, faint caramel, faint smoke, faint melon. Palate Oily, fresh, light, light bitter, light herbal, spice, sweet, spicy, light caramel, dried fruit, light smoke. Finish Medium long, light wood, light smoke, raisin, light orange, spice, medium dry, light herbal.

Un gros regret, car j adore new grove.

The cherry and chocolate, of the three Savoir Faire's I like the most, is the sweetest and least earthy of the nixh.
