Sip it neat and the 59% hides almost too well — this drinks creamy and rounded, more praline shop than cane field. Butterscotch, marzipan and dark chocolate lead, with dried dates, a floral-vegetal edge and toasted oak underneath. Most tasters are pleasantly caught off guard: it reads soft and gourmand, closer to a Spanish-style rum than the agricole its cane-juice roots suggest. The alcohol turns up late on the finish.

Fruity, chocolatey nose ... Oily in the mouth ... Agricole character Floral floral comes through very well. In the mouth ...first sweet and fruity then bitter and astringent. Nose much better than the palate.

Compared to some chairman's different, fruity, seems like a young Agricole, alcohol not well integrated, unfortunately has to join at the end.

A fruit bomb of sweet and sour cherries on the nose, with a little butterscotch... I like it. On the palate, marzipan and cookie dough at first, followed by pecan, chocolate, something slightly roasted with espresso! This continues almost seamlessly in the finish...followed later by some dried fruit. A solid, very good Saint Lucia

A surprising experience! I would have classified this rum more as a column still. Very soft and harmonious notes that result in a delicious (Spanish) rum. Often reminiscent of pralines and sweets, as well as dough on the nose and finish.

For me, this is another good representative of the medium-aged Chairman's. Light agricole notes, marzipan, chocolate praline and some fruit on the nose. Sweet creaminess and vegetal notes on the palate. It loses a few points in the finish due to an alcoholic note. If it weren't for this, it would be an 8.8 points for light, but in the end it is a very good 8.6 points.

A delicious and formidable profile that differs from what can be done in traditional rum. The nose is particularly heavy on pastry notes, with praline, butter caramel, and marzipan offering a nice show of indulgence. The dried fruits (dates, raisins) join the slightly roasted wood and spices to slightly sharpen this very rounded profile. A vegetal streak adds a bit of complexity. An accessible and pleasant profile to the nose. The palate profile is very smooth, dominated by rather elegant spices (chili, pepper, vanilla), notes of chocolate, butter, caramel, and pastry. Toasted wood and dried fruits are just behind to accentuate the roundness of the profile. The vegetal side is even more subtle here. The profile is creamy, generous, and very drinkable, which is very deceptive when you know the alcohol strength. The finish is long, elegant, and more focused on tea and herbs. Wood and spices remain present with chocolate, but espresso notes spice up the end of the palate and give more character. You still feel an approach of praline and honey that gently finishes the show. Saint Lucia shows with this cuvée that you can make an indulgent rum with character.

Friendly, nutty marzipan on the nose, dried fruit of course. A bit of Gugelhupf. On the palate, the depth of the wood, plus some raspberry and raisin. The raspberry then lingers in the aftertaste. Pretty cool!

Interesting variant, noticeably different in profile to the molasses rums. Not 100% convincing overall, and the alcohol integration could be better. Nevertheless, an exciting experiment.

St. Lucia World Cup Tasting Initially a strong aniseed note and a few fresh herbs, the rum comes slowly from the background More restrained on the palate than on the nose, but hay and fresh apple and always poorly integrated alcohol Blind, I probably wouldn't have said rum. Unfortunately really a bit disappointing.
