Raisin hits first and hard, backed by tobacco, licorice, oak and that rubbery-varnish Port Mourant edge. One taster called the nose "himmlisch" — heavenly — but almost everyone agrees the 40.6% bottling thins it out on the palate: dark, woody and a touch bitter, short on fruit and punch. A 33-year-old Demerara that reads elegant on the nose, quieter than it should be in the mouth.

I had a lot of expectation about this rum but I was a bit disappointed! The reduced grade brings out all the dark and woody part of the rum! It lacks a bit of intensity and persistence! It still remains pleasant to drink even if it is not among my favorite profiles!

Heavenly nose, unfortunately falls off on the palate due to the strong dilution to drinking strength. Nevertheless, a fine drop overall, like a light KFM, drinkable.

The nose is better than the palate. On the palate, there's a bit too much wood, molasses, bitter notes, and it's missing fruit. Overall, a bit thin.

Elegant, balanced, sophisticated. I am very positively surprised about the intensity of this rum, considering its ABV. It's really "dark" in all ways - the colour, the flavours. I get mostly coffee, dried fruits, wood, molasses with interesting flovral hints on the nose, even some mint. Happy I had the opportunity to taste it.
