People easing into Hampden's DOK mark will find this a gentler way in than most. The nose is unmistakable Hampden — glue, banana, ester — but the palate softens into pineapple, banana and papaya with a little biscuit dough. Several tasters felt it drinks below its 50.8% and reckoned the dilution flattened the funk. Fruity and pleasant, just not the ester bomb regulars want.

A delicious fruity easy sipping Hampden. The alcohol is barely noticeable, but the aromas are also very restrained. I would have expected more. The finish is very short. Thanks for the bottle @Artur.

Restrained but very tasty nose DOK unmistakable. Typical HD aromas paired with esters. Alcohol barely perceptible. On the palate you can immediately taste the reduction in ABV but still delicious with pineapple, banana and papaya. Some cookie dough and fruit esters. But then disappears from the palate atypically quickly. Good bottling but simply too expensive for what it delivers.

8,5:On the nose, medicinal with esters, glue, nail polish, oily with briny olive, buttery, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, citrus fruits, vinegar, slightly burnt, toasted, spicy oak with crème brûlée, marzipan, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, molasses is grassy with hay, floral, thick, sweet, candied fruits join, vanilla, some rubber, rum is balanced. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is light, medicinal with esters, glue, fruity with fermented, stewed, tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red, citrus fruits, hints of yellow, molasses is vegetal with briny olive, oily, oak is toasted with nuts, caramelized, spicy with allspice, vanilla, meaty. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, barrel impact is obvious, oak is toasted, sweet with greasy with brioche, caramelized tones, spicy with vanilla, smoky, fruity with tropical, citrus fruits and molasses is grassy, dark with black tea, vegetal, herbaceous.

And then tonight we have a nice Hampden. Not much to say, we have tropical fruits again, of course, pineapple and banana, but esters are also clearly recognizable as well as glue.

A little weak for a DOK on the chest

In the nose full DOK aroma. In the mouth a bit of disillusionment, in my eyes too strongly diluted. But especially with the DOK one is just used to full hut of ABV. As an entry into the DOK world but recommendable, only a bit expensive for it.

Tasted on the Whisky and Rum festival 2022. IJmuiden. www.zeewijck.nl Pretty funky Hampden. Def above LROK. Around <>H. Nose more funky than the taste. Might have sat in a Scotch cask. Just a whiff of peat present. A bit atypical for Hampden. Great balance between funk/fruit/wood and spices.

Quite a nice sipper. Unfortunately, the esters are not expressive enough to play in the league of the top ones, ergo: more nose than taste. The alcohol is also not perfectly integrated...seems a little as if percentages and taste are missing

Yes, clearly recognizable as DOK, but only in the beginning... here you can see more than clearly that the dilution has had a bad influence. The usual funkiness has unfortunately been lost... a real shame...

Thanks Rums for the make-a-wish split. Unfortunately for me only an average DOK, not bad, but unfortunately it doesn't really convince me. I think it's a little too thin, I miss that certain funk, that boom in the mouth
