Rhum J.M La Dame Jeanne Numéro 1
Surprising for an agricole: this leans more woody and spiced than grassy, with vanilla, candied fruit, orange peel and dark chocolate, plus tobacco in the background. At 48.3% the alcohol stays well-folded in. Several tasters call it their favorite J.M, soft on the palate with a long, gently grassy finish. A couple find the orange a bit dominant, and one or two miss a single standout hook.
- Well-integrated alcohol

How does Rhum J.M La Dame Jeanne Numéro 1 taste?
Aggregated from 57 community reviews.
Woody, spiced agricole with vanilla and orange Most people love this — balanced, complex, gently sweet and woody with the ABV nicely integrated. A few wish it had a sharper signature; one found it bitter and underwhelming.

My first and maybe only 10! I have nothing, absolutely nothing, to criticize. Wonderful notes of vanilla, fruit, some wood, floral meadow, raisins, burnt sugar and tobacco, both on the nose and on the palate. All in a wonderfully balanced complexity. Rhum J.M is my favorite among the Agricoles anyway, but this time they more than thrilled me. Urgent recommendation!

A little disappointed by the tasting of this vial before opening the expensive bottle. The nose is very caramel-like, even toffee! Then vanilla, but with a hint of varnish. The palate is quite bitter, with a strong, elusive finish. A little taste of whisky remains. Not a fan!

Very good and quality agricola but a bit without something interesting

Soft and mild in taste - long and soft in the end - fruity and spicy notes in harmony - What not to like 🥳

#4535 10.01.2024 Sittibg at home relaxing getting ready for another check up in hospital tomorrow. This is a very nice complex and well balanced rum. Fruity with nice spices and light roasted notes. The palate is oily and the ABV is very well integrated. There is a very nice touch of sugarcane on the palate. The finish is medium to long and has light anise and grass to it. Happy that I bought a bottle ☺️

The nose is great. A crazy greediness. The different types of cask balance each other perfectly. In the mouth it is also excellent. The spicy side comes out more in the mouth than the nose suggested and it is therefore for the lovers of agricole. Personally I find this rum really excellent.

The best J.M I‘ve tried so far 🥹😍. Nose: Delicious agricole notes, sugarcane, vanilla, fruits, orange peel, caramel, dark chocolate, cinnamon, hazelnut, floral notes, tobacco Mouth: Balanced, dry, delicious, full bodied, intense, agricole, vanilla, salty, woody, oak, sugarcane, creme brulee Finish: Long, delicious, sugarcane, roasted, caramel, grass, tobacco The alcohol is a little noticeable, but well balanced with the rum itself and gives it a nice roundness.🤤🤤

Great Agricole with a beautiful nose in which vanilla is in the foreground and is surrounded and complemented by a variety of other and diverse flavors. The palate is also very tasty (even coconut is there) and despite a lot of wood everything fits. I like it very much ... even the ABV is adequate. Thanks Rod for sharing!

The nose is very round, very fruity with a light precious wood, the sweetness of an almond paste coats the whole.the mouth is also greedy with olus spices and licorice which brings a small freshness.finish of a medium length.very good fruity rum, greedy and round.

Delicious Agricole! Surprising for me are the tropical fruits, especially orange and orange peel, which are wonderfully included in the aromatics of various spices and barrel notes. Unlike many Agricoles little grassiness or earthy notes, which I would attribute to an already longer time in the barrel, however, there is no indication of this. For the price of course also Leon schnappet, but a very good Agricole, which plays for me personally far in front!

It’s my second bottle and this doesn’t happen too often :) A great Ruhm which even gets better with some time and air.

Very multilayered, not too sweet, but rather woody (positive!) Agricole blend. Tastes really very good to me, but must first prove itself in crosstasting against another No. 1 - well, which one probably? 😉 [Ok, I mean the Saint James Les Ephémeres No. 1 - RX12796, which was significantly cheaper at release, but can now only be obtained with a lot of luck. 😋] Now without comparison sample initially 88 points - so already pretty excellent. Recommendation!

on the nose very nicely balanced with allspice, wood, dried fig, caramel, vegetal notes. On the palate old barrel, nutmeg, tobacco, caramel, green peppers. The finish is spicy tart. Really good J.M! Many thanks, Rod, for the sample!

Top.

This rhum has a very inviting nose. fruity, woody, nutty, candied fruit, sugar cane, the taste matches the nose, with some tobacco in the background. The finish is long and the first impression is confirmed, until the end. The grassy flavor remains on the palate for a long time. I also find the presentation very successful.

Red gold color. Very beautiful. Dried fruit, cherry, dark chocolate. Caramel and grassy. Perfectly balanced. In the mouth then plenty of pepper, warm, powerful, full-bodied. Short finish. J.M was once my favorite agricole, now in my glass again for a long time. Very good rum, highest craftsmanship. However, it lacks that last bit of flavor compared to the greats like Liberation and Neisson.
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Nose: Has notes of hazelnut brittle, nut nougat, tobacco and cinnamon stars. Taste: slightly bitter, spicy, heavy and oily. Bitter almond, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, heavily toasted barrel, caramelized fig and star anise. Super complex and intense. Very nice!
