Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. Deutlich runder & harmonische wie die Ruby Port edition, wenn auch mir etwas zu süß aber das liegt in der Natur der Sache bei 10y altem tawny port. Schöne Alternative für süßrum Trinker und Mal wirklich eine Neuheit in der Rumwelt.

You can tell right away that this one has 20.6g more sugar than the Ruby. Here too, the alcohol still comes through surprisingly strong. Nevertheless, the Tawny is probably a beginner-friendly rum, comparable to the Zacapa 23.

Bellamy tasting. A dark rum with a nose marked by sandalwood, red port and a very fruity side. The palate is soft with fruits (baked apples), a peppery side but also bitter. The finish is short on wood and port. A rum that gives a strong impression of sweetness, the port is very present but well integrated. Interesting and well made but it lacks everything, depth and breadth of aromas, length and character.

Die Nase ist ganz schön: Portwein,Rosine, etwas Apfel Dann kommt der erste schluck und der ist gar nicht schön ! Eine Art Bratapfel ist zu schmrcken bevor mit aller härte eine Bittere Note dursch den mund fegt. Wirklich nicht angenehm zu drinken.

A new way of aromatizing here, and selected port wine is married with aged rum, in this case an 8-year-old Panama rum. The taste has a pleasant oily texture and umami notes of wood and earthy colors and orange peel. Long lasting and rich aftertaste. A successful combination of port and rum and definitely worth a try.

Bellamy‘s Tawny vs. Ruby. Tawny very heavy on the Port notes on the nose. Not much else. Ruby is much better balanced with some chocolate and roasted notes of the rum coming through - at least I assume this is attributable to the rum used. On the palate: Tawny: this tastes like Port. Only the texture is not quite as thick as a Port. Can’t detect any influence of the rum tbh. Very sweet. Ruby: Much better. Less sweet and wine dominated. Feels a bit thin, but delivers a nice evolution with way more complexity than the Tawny.

Bellamy's Verkostung: Sobald sich etwas Flüssigkeit im Glas befindet schlägt einem eine extreme Karamell-, Toffee-, Creme Brulee-Note ins Gesicht. Geschmacklich zeigt sich der Tawny sehr dominant. Man kann meinen man trinkt einen Portwein. Die Dosage von 22,4 g/l führen zu einem milden und rundem Mundgefühl, verdecken zusammen mit dem dominantem Tawny-Geschmack aber auch sämtliche andere Aromen. Der Abgang ist kurz. Für meinen Geschmack ist der Portwein zu dominant wodurch alle anderen Aromen erschlagen werden.

Dieser süße rum hat in der nase noten von vanille, karamell, portwein, gewürzen und holz. Am gaumen ähnlich, vanille, karamel, portwein, kakao, kaffee, gewürze und holz. Der abgang ist etwas holprig und unrund.

Tasting at the fair, so brief: Dryer on the nose than the Ruby, spicier and overall more exciting and rounder. On the palate, something remains with salty caramel, wine, and fruity spice. I like it clearly better than the port variant, it's exactly my corner in terms of sweetness (if sweet).

You don't have to mix everything. I see price/performance just as critically as the taste. A mix, an expensive mix, plus no clear information about production/distillery/sugar etc. - In my opinion, it can be done better and leads to variety but not to transparency in the rum market.

Very round, very 'Tawny', but fades very quickly in the mouth, yet every sip is a pleasure! Needs to breathe in the glass for a while before it unfolds. For me, a great example that rum often needs time. Not too sweet, very tasty. Definitely worth it.
