A very popular rum, mainly used in mixology, but it also has its strengths when enjoyed neat. The nose is full-bodied, with heavy fruity and phenolic notes that invade the nostrils, accompanied by vegetal and floral notes. The impression is confirmed on the palate: this is a powerful, funky and exciting rum. There's a real aromatic concentration of overripe banana and pineapple, glue and vegetal notes. It also has an almost synthetic, artificial, chemical and fermented feel. The finish leaves its mark on the palate with a hint of bitterness, but above all the varnish notes that coat the palate with its intensity. Exotic fruit and citrus round out the finish. A high-spirited rum that has what it takes to concoct explosive cocktails.

It's hard to score this. It's meant for mixing, of course, and it's a lovely, fruity, slightly vegetal accent when added to a drink, but as tasted neat, only adding water to lower the ABV, it's horrendous. Interesting, but not pleasant. Mostly reminiscent of puking in my early twenties. The nose is great, though. Past the alcohol, green over ripe fruits, unripe banana. Some glue. Some nougat and melon and macaroons. Just hints of these. And something else I can't quite place. Something vegetal. Wet vegetation alongside a river or excavated from a dam. 86 as a mixer. 32 neat.

This is a pure pot stills rum consisting of a blend of WPEL, WPL and WPE rum from the Worthy Park distillery. The finish is just medium long and shorter than for the other white Jamaican Overproof’s. Overall it’s also the most pungent of the big Jamaican three.

On aeration, there are notes of a sugarcane honey, as a molasses is vegetal, herbaceous and flowery, grassy, spicy. Citrus and pear are noticed 7,6:On the palate, the attack is again fruity and medicinal with overripe, fermented tropical fruits like banana, pineapple, later pear, citrus and esters, glue.With a combination of fermented vegetal notes, we might think we taste a yoghurt, as later we have a wave of grassy, floral and herbaceous notes, a hint of sugarcane, after nice rest then chocolate, nuts, some confectionery and spicy pepper. 7,7:The finish is medium long with dry and smoky notes, a bit bitter with an olive, the fruits are still overripe, fermented, joined with red fruits, crunchy bread and some yeast, medicinal light esters, polish..

on the nose very pungent but in the taste is then this ingenious overripe pear in the foreground, but unfortunately also a lot of metallic and chemical notes but in the daiquiri for it ne Wucht are. solid thing for the money!

I'd never had the chance to taste this Worthy Park overproof. Now I have. It kicks. Strong. Not at all funky, but very fruity and surprisingly vegetal. Nice, but apart from in a few cocktails, of limited interest in my opinion.

The nose does not demonstrate alcohol content, the hint of melon stands out, followed by an unripe banana. In the mouth the alcohol is noticeable, an unaccustomed palate might be bothered (not my case) melon and banana hold sway over a softer funky hint. Beautiful mouthfeel.

This badboy is a total stunner for cocktails requiring jamaican rum. Is it made for sipping neat? Maybe only for the brave ones, but I took the challenge, haha! The nose is very estery, fruity, funky, but I guess we all expect that from rums like this. What surprised me was a thin line of cocoa notes that even persist in the taste and finish. The mouthfeel is very robist and oily with dominant tropical fruits. What turns me down a little bit while sipping it is kind of a harsher finish, which brings me not that wanted sharpness. But come on, it's 63 ABV. Overall, I don't think I'll sip this as much as white rums from Savanna for example, but this is a must have for any rum cocktails enthusiast!

A very distinctive white rum with typical Jamaican character. You feel overripe banana, fresh grass and esters. On the palate, it is very intense and dry, so it is more suitable for cocktails than for neat drinking, but against growth :) fruity notes of papaya and banana. Perfect choice if you want to add true Jamaican strength to drinks or if you're not a wimp.

Sure it's a blender. Unbeatable with grapefruit. Pure but quite more exciting than some other WP - high ester Worthy Park is also rare. In the nose the full broadside of unripened Jamaicans: fermented tropical fruits (banana, pineapple), rather light adhesive notes. A slight sweetness greets you at the tip of the tongue, followed by the fruit basket from the nose, followed by fresh sugar cane with all its bitterness. In the rather short finish, the bitterness turns to citrus peel and lemon.

The nose is very bright and fresh. A big pile of exotic fruits and sugarcane juice. The palate is heavier than the nose would suggest. The tropical fruits are less pronounced. Dry, industrial, lots of glue and sugarcane. The finish is short, waxy and bitter. This is an unusual one of me. Something I enjoy mixed but neat it's not a great overproof.

As a mixer this can work well, but as a sipper I don't enjoy it as much unfortunately. The finish is medium at best. Would be nice to compare it to the other Jamaican overproofs: Rum Fire and Wray & Nephew. I like this in a "Wray & Ting"

It's not for everyone. Funk, hogo, whatever you call it - it's pungent and strong with this one. It's - nomen omen - bananas. I love it, I sip it neat, but you have to try it to know if you would too. No review will do it justice, it's just...odd. I dare you to try. Either you never look for it again or you will be always on the lookout. Probably good for coctails but that's a guess since I never made any ;)

Notes taken during the Rhum Fest 2024, Quick notes and a bit heavy palate, sorry :) What we have here is quite a surprise, it's really disturbing. A rum: the funk brings an impression of old candy, soda, powder sometimes a little synthetic Finish: fruit and banana? It's still quite intriguing, and on a mai thai it must be top-notch - on its own it's maybe too offbeat. A nice surprise in any case, I really enjoyed the stand!

Very strong banana smell, taste not bad. Tried with a bit of water which revealed more notes. Worth trying with few drops of water and see which you prefer. Have yet to used it in cocktail but will get to it eventually

Original impressions from 2017 rum calendar. Nose: * Taste: * Overall: * ”63% Jamaica. Odrickbar.” Very strong funk and esters on the nose, the high ABV just takes over. Very hard to distinguish anything else. Palate has a nice burn to it but this is not my cup of rum, maybe good in cocktails or if you dilute it with some water.

Witty Jamaican upper proof rum that seems to jump back and forth between sweet and dry - at least in taste. The nose is full of molasses, the palate is funky and full-bodied. I personally prefer it in cocktails.

This is my least favorite Jamaican overproof. The blend of cane juice gives it a rotten vegetable odor that clashes with the classic molasses funk. I don't drink this neat this like W&N, it's a mixer. I would only rebuy for parties.

Of course, it's great in a daiquiri, but you notice the subtle but decisive difference to Hampden, especially in the direct benchmark to Rumfire. It simply lacks that beautifully fermented fruitiness in the finish.

Rum Bar (Worthy Park distillery, Jamaica), white 63° 🇯🇲 Nose: the nose is magnificent with a beautiful sweetness, sugarcane, slightly smoky metallic notes, a nice white-fleshed fruit like pear, a small note of banana (I'd say more like banana peel). A subtle note of glue. It's a rather soft and pleasant Jamaican nose to smell, meaning we're not dealing with powerful esters (powerful esters = strong glue, solvent, nail polish). Palate: You can really feel the 63°, the attack is lively. The rum swings between dryness and fattiness. However, we don't have the nice sweetness perceived on the nose, and this is confirmed by the absence of pear and banana. Here we are clearly dealing with earthy cane, a bit salty, bagasse, then a smoky and metallic aspect. Followed by a chemical aspect like glue (welcome to Jamaica). In Ti'Punch, it must be excellent too, but my personal opinion would be not to put too much lemon, just two or three drops to give a slightly citrusy aspect, like you might perceive in some old Jamaicans.

Very fruity/grassy/flowery Worthy Park. The ester notes initially remind of an Agricole. Floral on the nose and palate, fruity hints. Ripe banana, mango. The alcohol is a bit too dominant. Definitely enjoyable neat, but especially very good in cocktails.
