#6799 15.05.2026 Enjoying a few evening samples in preparation for tomorrows 20 km mountain hike in the northeast of Denmark. Price to quality on this rum is pretty good in my mind. Probably made as a mixer but also a nice sipper to be honest. A very fresh rum with a sweet touch, sugarcane, citrus, salt, mango and some light grass.

First time tasting Karukera rum. Batch#4 On the nose: the grass from agricole rum is on the background here. More the present is olive brine, that you can find on some of the Clairin rums. Interesting. Taste: olivebrine dominates.Very smooth and balanced. It has that oily mouthfeel with touch of sweetness. Alcohol is somewhat integrated very well in here. The high abv is present in quite pleasant way. Finish: short. Briny. A little dry. Quite pleasant sipper, eventhou it doesnt really offer much, but somehow i like it.
