Review by TheRhumhoe
One of Martinique's oldies. On the nose, there's a sensation of rather sour fruitiness, but above all floral, earthy and undergrowth notes, notes of fermentation and mushrooms, which together with the meager woodiness present form a disconcerting whole. Aeration gives it a more alcoholic tone and adds leather, making it more approachable. The attack on the palate is slightly fruitier, with a hint of bitterness and spicier, more gourmand notes that make the rum more digestible on the palate. However, a slightly rancid taste comes to the palate after aeration, which is very disturbing. The finish is of medium length, with the same unpleasant sensation sticking to the palate. An interesting rum for discovering the Martinique of yesteryear, but that's where it ends.

09.05.1992 Got this tasting as a present from my employer because they saw how much I liked the previous tasting we had. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light roasted wood, floral, fruity, vegetal, light citrus. Palate Light, wood, light roasted, fruity, medium dry, citrus, light floral, earthy. Finish Short to medium, wood, medium dry, fruits, light earthy, faint leather. 3.75 stars of 5.0 which should amount to 7.5 today.
