A "compulsive" purchase on a pirate site in Germany... at 32€ you can't go far wrong with a great aroma BUT, of course, the nose is completely on esters and alcohol; too much alcohol. On the palate, however, there's some fruit, not unpleasant. I took it as a daiquiri afterwards, and it really does it! Not crazy, but still worth a small 7.

🔹 S.B.S Origin Dominican Republic “Aroma Grande” – 57 % Un rhum blanc "high ester" (environ 500 g/hlap), non vieilli, distillé en colonne par Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos (AFD), pour le compte de 1423 World Class Spirits, embouteilleur danois bien connu. Profil : ouverture sur des notes de solvants et d’acétone, avant de glisser vers des fruits blancs et rouges, puis une finale sèche et un peu grasse. Ce n’est clairement pas un rhum de dégustation pure – peu d’intérêt en l’état – mais il révèle tout son potentiel en mixologie, notamment dans des Daiquiris créatifs où sa structure singulière peut faire des merveilles.

Tak muj salek rumu to uplne neni , nejsem uplne na tyto redidlove rumy, a tady toho redidla, odlakovace a lepidla je tedy dost 😁 estery tam sou znat do soudku na domaci finishovani idealni 👍🏼 hodne alkoholove , pripadne dobre na mix drinku kde se rozlozi chut a rozvine vice nasladla vune, ktera je schovana za odlakovacem.

#4015 I would prefer this rum on the rocks or in a mixer. It's a little bit off in my mind, but I do like the very long and dry finish that stays with you for a long while.

Lack, Kleber, Ester und etwas Zitrone in der Nase. Hier ein recht unspektakulärer Einstieg in's Thema. Äußerst süß, leider aber recht sprittig. 'Uhu' ist hier wohl die beste Bezeichnung. Sehr viel mehr als das passiert hier leider nicht, außer diesem Hauch Zitrus und etwas Grappa/Traube. Ergibt aber einen zumindest soliden Daiquiri, für jene die's darin etwas charismatischer mögen

Despite glue and varnish coming through both on the nose and palate, it’s not the worst unaged rum I’ve tasted although I can now see why this is one of those cocktail rums - not really meant for sipping, more for mixing to provide an ester-y element to them It’s nice to taste a little citrus on the palate but the industrial notes certainly take over quickly enough - not for me

"Pure somewhat difficult in the drink not so wrong. Aromatically extremely much varnish and esters, but somehow not the beautiful esters. Reminds me of an unclean distilled pomace brandy with the pre- and post-run was not properly separated and thus the Uhu glue comes through. But as I said, in the drink really good and for a rum from the Dom Rep amazingly interesting."
