Penultimate rum for today, Le Gallon from World Class Spirits. Really good for an impatient rum, nice fruity nose, also herbal and a little ester. Also predominantly fruity and herbal on the palate, again a little ester. Alcohol well integrated.

This is a pretty good white rum and I'm enjoy it while looking forward to the bottles I have to pick up tomorrow. Fruity and you can easily pick up the esters in it as well. Dry and fruity on the palate. A very good buy whether you want it pure, on the rocks or in a mixer.

First tasted at the 11th GRF, now again in peace at home.In the nose floral esters notes and the skin of grapes.In the mouth surprisingly dry.The finish I like best here, is rather short but brings a nice strawberry note with it.From the profile I would classify him between Rum-Bar OP and Savanna. Less olive and intense than Rum-Bar and less fruity than Savanna.Had him better in memory, is a great rum, to drink neat but I would not buy a whole bottle. In the drink, however, would do very well.

It reminds me a lot of Haitian Clairin. A kind of oily saltiness. A lot of scent. It's got a nice sweet cane, fruit. There's a saltiness, a smokiness on the finish. I recommend all ten to try it.

Came against the TECA and the DomRep no longer so, so my memories are only very blurry about this bottling. In the daiquiri but still a neat mixer.

In aroma floral fruity fragrance. In taste it is a beautiful marmalade la gallion. Very sweet profile with a fruity finish. The whole thing is pleasant, but the most interesting thing about this rum is the finish which goes into strawberry notes. On-line tasting of the S.B.S origin series with Joshua Singh organised by rum explorer 24.2.2025 Today's masterclass will consist of two parts - today we'll taste the pure rums, next time we'll compare in daiquiris. I'll add a cocktail evaluation later.

The nose is dominated by an estry-medicinal component paired with olive and molasses. Then comes the palate.... 😳🤯 Wow, grand taste explosion. Everything from the smell more extreme and more on the tongue. Remains a medium-long visit.

Fruity nose, also brings brine and reveals esters. Reminds on the palate of the unaged Vieux Sajous, a bit bacon-y with olive and a bit of strawberry at the end. Overall a nice sipper that was probably designed more as a mixer.

Floral and mineral, salty through to olive brine. Slightly bacony and with a hint of menthol on the nose. Sweet and creamy in the mouth, and indeed: strawberry. Completely new and wild for me, and really impressive. Extremely mild for its 57%. A hint of the salty olive resonates, which only makes it more exciting. Should make a fantastic daiquiri.

Very fruity smelling, but very intensely woody tasting rum, which is a little too nasty in the finish. The smell changes from strong to mildly floral very soon after pouring. Overall, not a bad rum, but not my favorite either. If I get another sample, I'll try it as a cocktail.

Ok, it's interesting. Nose: bright, lot of typical Agricole notes: vegeetables, grass, brine, hay, olives. Little bit of fusel oils, flowers, iodine & some minerals. Touch of bergamot, esters & solvents. Palate: great ! Little bit of sweetness, some citrus, sugarcane juice, grass, vegetables, olives. Hint of spices & fruits. Some floral. Aftertaste: Dry, medium-long. Lot of fruits, maybe little bit overripe, litchi, minerals, iodine, flowers, salty. Bright green olives ! Conclusion: wow, this is really good white rum. First acquaintance with French Antilles, and it's awesome. Little gem for this price. Highly recommend.

Fresh and grassy agricole. Quality rum.Thats a great starting point agricole rum without spending a fortune, although as far as im concerned its not bottle-worthy. If I were to choose something similar I would definitely choose every Velier’s Haitian Clairin over it.

🔥 Bottle Kill du jour 🔥 Latest bottle kill, sacrificed during the aperitif of our last Rhum Mirror session: 👉 SBS Galion Grand Arôme Blanc 2021 – 57% A rum from Martinique... but clearly not the usual one we know under AOC. Here, forget the cane juice: it's a molasses rum produced at Le Galion, a true specialist of “Grand Arôme” used notably in perfumery, pastry and as a blend booster. 💡 Bottled at 57% in the SBS “Origin” series (1423), which highlights extreme and identity-rich white rums from around the world. 👃 Nose: Powerful and disconcerting. A vegetal, herbal mix, with an almost “Jamaican solvent” touch. We dive into a world of esters, olive, fermented tropical fruits... all wrapped in an almost pharmaceutical atmosphere, like waiting in line at the pharmacist. 👄 Palate: Explosive and totally unique attack. Salted olives, tropical fruits in fermentation, slight touch of gamey meat... Then appear notes of fermented strawberry, in the spirit of a Savanna HERR. We find nods to TECA, HERR profiles and other ester bombs... but the whole remains deeply singular. 🥃 Conclusion: Not a pure favorite, but an ultra interesting, original and striking rum. 👉 And above all: it makes perfect sense in mixology. Big success in Daiquiri Royal 50/50 with my infinity bottle (less esterified rum). 💥 Result: a royal daiquiri with prosecco (nod to the Italian VSGB theme) → explosive, funky, and terribly fun. 🍸 A rum that clearly doesn't leave you indifferent... and once again proves that Le Galion plays in a category of its own.
