The Wild Parrot New Yarmouth NY Distillery (Special Edition for Corman Collins) 2009
Cookie dough, marzipan and overripe pineapple lead here, with solvent and glue on the nose and more oak than the fruitier 2009 New Yarmouths. The extra two years in cask show as wood and baking spice. One taster called it like drinking a "liquid banana cookie," though at cask strength the alcohol turns spicy and a touch bitter for some. Wild, ester-heavy Jamaica.
The community says- Cookie dough, marzipan
- Big ester funk
- But: Spicy alcohol edge

A nose of overripe banana, pear, mirabelle plum and light wood. The palate has a soft attack, then is immediately full-bodied. The freshness is astonishing, with noble vanilla rounding out the picture. The finish is quite long, with acidic fruit and light oak. The empty glass is a fine summary of this interesting, well-balanced rum.
Review by DomM
On the nose the bottling delivers the classic New Yarmotuh notes with cookie dough and sweetness, but also accompanied by quite some herbal notes. Woody notes are also quite present which work well with the other notes in the profile.

Edit Edit: also a blast in MaiTai. Unfortunately now empty 😞 Edit: From the fresh bottle it has now really convinced me again. What a beautiful drop. Once again a super New Yarmouth. A little more sharp-edged and intense than the others. But in a very pleasant way, a little wilder, but strangely enough I like that very much. Thanks to Serge for sharing with me as I was late for the split.
Review by Dr.Django
New Yarmouth is no longer an insider tip, and rightly so. I don't think I've had a bad bottling yet. In terms of quality, this one fits in seamlessly with the New Yarmouths I've tasted so far. The start on the palate is very creamy, smooth with baking spices, cookie dough and mingles with banana and other tropical fruits and the esters and pineapple increasingly take shape in the mouth towards the finish. New Yarmouth delicious as usual, Wild Parrot overpriced as usual.
Review by Serge
Delicious Bew Yarmouth with lots of cookie dough, cookies and baking spices as well as fruity pineapple, glue and solvents. A little pungent on the palate but very tasty. The price-performance ratio was somewhat better elsewhere.
Review by Thunderbird
Tasting evening with Dr. Django (Jamaica): I quite like this Wild Parot NY. Its aroma is very complex and quite pleasant. On the palate, it develops a delicious marzipan sweetness, paired with some spice and wood. I like that, but it still doesn't come close to my previous benchmark in terms of NY from RA
Review by Galli33
RA NY 2009 > Wild Parrot NY 2009 Superb younger New Yarmouth with perfect integration on the barrel. In my opinion the alcohol is not integrated well and feels very spicy in mouth. Anyway, it‘s super delicious with all the classic NY notes, esters and a very nice chocolate cookie note😏 Yummy
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
In direct comparison to the CDI NY 2009 clearly edgier and more alcoholic. Especially on the nose he makes me no fun...The cookie dough and fruit notes are not quite as dominant here, instead I find more burnt plastic, unripe pineapple, too hot and bitter brewed coffee, some cinnamon stars and especially a disturbing for me vinegar note.... Not bad but with an additional almost 100€ price difference in the RRP, the Wild parrot definitely draws the short straw here. But is still complaining at a high level. Tasty stuff! Am still glad that I bought for almost the same money 2 bottles of CDI 😜😜

Ohhh yes .... this is a NY as I like it ... beautiful fruit, spices and esters great balance! Alcohol well integrated. A little rounder but also slightly woody and bitterer in the finish (compared to the RA 2009s) a great rum although quite expensive ...
Review by Oliver
Very nice New Yarmouth with typical associations to cookie dough, marzipan and tropical fruits. Pleasant ester and wood notes. The 13 years in the barrel suit the rum very well. The alcohol is also very well integrated. A clear recommendation!
Review by Adrian Wahl
What an awesome release. Finally 2009 NY again. The two more years in the barrel were noticeable compared to the RA. A little more wood and a little less fruit. Awesome stuff. If it weren't for the 240€ price for 0.7 liters it would scratch 90. Also makes an excellent Mai Tai.
Review by Johannes
Without direct comparison, it can't quite keep up with the NY of 2005. But still high level!
Review by Leo Krüper
Great 2009 New Yarmouth. Otherwise, the vintage doesn't impress me. Here, luckily, the bitter notes are kept in check and it is quite balanced.
Review by Alex1981
Favorite of the 3 NY 2009 tasted tonight, not the fruitiest but best integrated. Feels a bit higher on the ester scale with rotten bananas/pineapples but cery yummy! Also the alcohol felt better balanced although it has the highest abv with 61.4% Great stuff if it wasn’t for the price tag… //update: confirmed my score, really great dram for the young age!
Review by Banana Joe
A really great NY that convinces me with its elegant style. The alcohol is very well integrated, you feel like drinking a liquid banana cookie. I really like the mix of sweetness, spice, and wood.

#5418 22.06.2025 Relaxing while listening to some Avicii and recovering from yesterday's tasting. Nose Medium intense, light wood, light banana, faint grass, light nutts, light solvent, light berries. Palate Medium intense, naturally sweet, oily, fresh, wood, light roasted, light dried fruit, faint chocolate, light banana. Finish Long, naturally sweet, oily, wood, faint smoke, light solvent, light berries. Empty glass Light chocolate, vanilla, wood, faint minerals, light nutts, faint chocolate.

Really great New Yarmouth. Great nose. We mainly have esters here, but also pineapple and solvent. On the palate also typical Jamaica lots of esters. Otherwise again many tropical fruits, but also slightly alcoholic, but bearable :)
Review by F Kraemmer
Delicious New Jarmoth, gift from Mr. D Jungberg. Cookie dough, faint mirabelle, pear, light harmonious barrel notes. Light marzipan sweetness, balanced barrel, banana, lovely acidity and pineapple. This New Yarmouth has a bit of "attitude" more body compared to the average. Tasting (In The Cave)

2x NY 2009 13yr with comparable ABV (TWP & TWJ): on the nose the typical markers with pronounced baking spices. On the palate then clearly more complex with lots of wood and spices which last long into the finish.

Tasted at SDR’24 Opens with mild yet lavish aromas of bananabread, freshly cut pineapple and vanillapod. Not overly estery nor convoluted, with a supporting backbone of roasted nuts, white chocolate and Christmas spice. Accessible. The mouth starts in the same fashion, with banana- and gingerbread with a scoop of vanilla icecream on the side. Then brutally complex with meaty subtones, bbq spice, rubber and burning plastic. What an unexpected turn of events here. It’s raw, wild, and near-overpowering. The finish is extremely long, sweet and dry with more charred meat and gingerbread, followed by an ‘after-pancakes’ feeling of sugary dough and whipped cream. An absolute beast of a bottle, and one of the surprises at SDR this year. The price is (very!) steep in comparison to other NY’09 references, but regardless worth every penny.

Is damn similar to the NY filling of CDI for Perola (RX13284). There again a direct comparison is pending. Overall super tasty and from solvent, glue, nail polish, cookie dough to ester and trop. Fruits everything with it. Update: Has in direct comparison with the Perola NY just ahead. However, the Perola NY has the significantly better PLV!

Tasted at SDR2024. This was my personal highlight of the festival, a real surprise. Both the nose and the taste are a delight!

💥 Enmore 1994: a slap! Everything fits wonderfully, with an incredible length on notes of raspberry and blueberry. Clearly the best REV 1994 I've tasted so far — my big favorite of the tasting ❤️ Just behind, the TDL 2002, perfectly balanced, unfolds a superb peach thread. A real treat! 🍑 Interesting comparison between the two Caroni 1998, with a preference for the red label. The white label even presented some notes... of smoked ham 😉 The Savanna 2007 remained well concentrated and aromatic, the New Yarmouth 2009 offered a nice length on a slight woodiness, and the Diamond 2001 seduced with its gourmand and pastry side, reminiscent of an El Dorado Skeldon. In summary, a very nice series overall, except for the Fiji, with a really too atypical profile — clearly the least convincing of The Wild Parrot bottlings tasted so far.
Review by TheJackDrop
Another great impression at Wild Parrot. Rich in pineapple, pastry-like, buttery as wished, low in esters and spices, this little New Yarmouth is really sexy. Maybe the least impressive of the lineup but still... and the price still seems 'affordable'.
Review by DeMaddin
Nice NY, from the nose, nicely fruity, accompanied by ester notes and a nice spice combined with marzipan-like pastry notes. On the palate, the spicy, woody notes come first, followed by the fruity tones. The tannins from the oak barrel give it a slight subtle bitterness, which I find very nice, a slight sharpness is noticeable, then it gets warm on the palate and a slight sweetness sets in.
Review by Mentalo
Qualitatively on the same level as the other 2009s. In direct comparison, I found it a bit less fruity. But all top bottlings if you like cookie dough. Price increase is not justified compared to CDI Perola.

Nice and interesting Yarmouth, well integrated alcohol. Delicate candies with overripe pineapple, esters as a bonus. Recommended.

Revisit of this gentlewoman. A rather charming sweet iteration of 2009 Nye. I think the pastry notes really came with bottle age to be the shining star in thi ester festival. But in the end I reduced the scoring slightly
