Sehr schöner Rum aus einer eher noch unbekannten Destination. Perfekt um mal etwas neues kennenzulernen. Trotz seiner 67% kommt er sehr Rund und geschmeidig. Super Debüt das mehr verspricht vom Abfüller

Intensiv, fruchtig, blumig, Vanille & Honig. Schmeckt richtig gut mit einem Tropfen Wasser und als Mixer bestimmt eine Granate.

Edit: Heute nochmal pur und als Mixer probiert. Glaube ich habe Anfangs ein wenig zu hoch gegriffen. Für mich ein solider Rum. Der neue Fiji von Fabian ist aber deutlich besser, auch wenn er in eine andere Richtung geht. Deswegen ein bißchen nach unten korrigiert. Wie man auf dem Bild sieht, stellt dies wohl die Rumwelt ein bißchen auf den Kopf. Für einen Rum aus Ghana super funky. Anfangs ist er wie ein Birnenbrand, aber dann wenn das bitzeln im Mund aufhört ist er wie angeschmolzene Milchschokolade die in Honig eingelegt war. Ich finde ihn extrem lecker. Bin gespannt was Fabian noch so aus dem Hut zaubert.

Very cool release. Ghana in its purest form. Very flowery & herbal. Think it's a grenade in a daiquiri. Great to see a new bottler who dares to do something. 67% and Ghana as the first release. I like it better in direct comparison than the RumClub Cudjoe. Congratulations Fabi!

Nicht schlecht, schon gar nicht für den ersten Wurf. Die typische Ghana-DNA ist sofort da, eine Ladung Ester und überreife Bananen direkt aufs Auge ... äh ... die Nase! 😊 Afrikanische Fruchtexplosion, einfach anders als die karibische! 😋 Insgesamt ist mir der Rum aber einen Ticken zu eindimensional. So spielt beispielsweise die Nanny vom Rumclub mit ihrem phänomenalen Jamaica-Touch eine Liga höher, ganz abgesehen vom (seinerzeit) unschlagbaren PLV. Der Honeybatcher scheint mir einer der wenigen Rums zu sein, denen ein Finish zu höheren Weihen gereicht hätte. Aber auch so ist er ein feiner Rum - und das mit dem Finish kann man ja für zukünftige Editionen im Auge behalten. 😉

Spannend! Langsam zeigt sich immer mehr, dass Afrika auch reichlich Potential hat, guten Stoff zu liefern, Ghana legt gut vor! Zu Beginn macht der Rum sofort klar, aus was er gemacht ist: Zuckerrohrsaft! Wer schon mal frisch gepresstes Zuckerrohr probiert hat weiß, wovon ich spreche. Diese enorme Grasigkeit verfliegt (zum Glück) schnell, bleibt jedoch dezent auch weiterhin vorhanden und reiht sich neben den spannenden Estern vor allem in Form von Birne und Apfel ein. Interessanterweise wirkt der Rum in der Nase trotz 67% und gerade mal 2 Jahren Reifung sehr weich und zurückhaltend, das hatte ich anders erwartet. Am Gaumen hingegen zeigt er schnell, was Sache ist und liefert volle Power. Allerdings stört auch hier kein Alkohol, wie man dies von 67% vermuten würde und statt ordentlich Ester spüre ich vor allem eine fruchtige Säure. Irgendwie hat das was von Obstler… Noch kein Top-Produkt und auch etwas eindimensional, für einen zweijährigen Rum aus einem recht „neuen“ Rum-Land aber eine Ansage. Sollte man in Zukunft im Auge behalten!

African Fruit Bomb, Nase ist sehr weich, süß und nur wenig alkoholisch. Auch honig nehme ich wahr. Am Gaumen dann etwas Ester mit Vanille, Honig und Gelben Früchten. Alkohol ist für die stärke auch gut eingebunden. Vielleicht ein wenig zu süß aber voll ok.

Interessantes, fruchtiges Profil, das in der Tat etwas an Obstbrand erinnert. Alkohol ist sehr gut integriert, die Komplexität könnte jedoch höher sein. Bin gespannt, was aus Ghana noch an länger gereiften Rums so kommt…

Nose: intense, floral, continental fruits, honey Palate: suprisingly round with alcohol very well integrated. Floral, fruits, milk chocolate. While this is young and powerful, I would have guessed way more than two years of aging. Well done - nice debute for the Honey Batcher.

So, today is Ghana tasting! The Honey-Batcher is the first! The nose starts with esters, fruit and a certain sweetness, which is a good start. The longer it lingers in the glass, something fresh and flowery is added and later hay! On the palate it is creamy at first, the alcohol is quite strong at the beginning, but then gives way to a fresh, floral and sweet honey note! A little vanilla also joins in! The finish is mixed with a grassy, cereal-like, woody note... Overall a good rum, somehow between Jamaica funk and young Agricole!

Blumig, Fruchtig süß das beschreibt den Geruch am besten.... Am Gaumen dann etwas kantiger .... aber trotz 67% sehr gut trinkbar. Fruchtig und leicht Süß kommt er daher ... Tatsächlich sehr gefällig !
