What surprises most people here is how much port wine actually comes through — this drinks more like a sherry-and-port-soaked dessert rum than a classic Panama sipper. Expect raisins, red grapes, plum and a soft, creamy sweetness, with a little vanilla and caramel underneath. One member called it "Rumtopf" in a glass. Easy-going at 40%, and a couple of tasters warned it's dangerously drinkable.

Bottle Market Bremen October 2024. Took a tasting set from Wagemut. Slightly better than the previous ones. Definitely has a nice sherry and port wine influence on the nose and palate. Also some vanilla and caramel are recognizable, so the sweetness is somewhat subdued.

The nose is dominated by raisins, plums, port wine, and sherry, accompanied by vanilla and fine sandalwood. On the palate, dark fruits, dates, and caramel follow, along with dark chocolate and cappuccino. Complex and pleasantly full-bodied.

On the nose initially vanilla, caramel and very clearly cherry (black or dark red ripe sweet cherry). And dark chocolate. On the palate the fruit notes dominate, as well as chocolate and coffee, more precisely cappuccino. Something like a mix of Mon Cherie and coffee liqueur beans. Pleasant to drink, but more for beginners and "sweet tooths".
