One taster called it a grown-up Foursquare thanks to the coconut. It's a 27-year New Yarmouth at cask strength: big, woody, and only lightly funky, with tannins some love and some find bitter.

Once again a great 94er New Yarmouth. Alcohol well integrated, aromatic with lots of roasted coconut, some chocolate, smoked almonds, cinnamon and light esters... definitely plays in the top league!

Typical New Yarmouth 1994 with lots of column still style: vanilla, caramel, coconut along with the Jamaican rum hint of fresh, citrusy tropical fruit aromas. The alcohol is pleasantly integrated, the profile is round - the only criticism remains the lack of uniqueness. Taste-wise, however, fully excellent.

Wow, what a power! A true aroma bomb with present but well-integrated alcohol. It's like a very good Foursquare (coconut!) for adults. You have to get into it, but then you'll be rewarded with real power and flavor. Very good New Yarmouth of the "1994 style"!

07.01.2023 relaxing at home with a friend whilst enjoying some samples. Dark in colour. Nose Sweet, medium intense, light wood, faint smoke, light caramel, faint chocolate, berries, light vegetal. Palate Varm, light wood, fruity, light cherry, light coconut, faint polich, faint chocolate, light citrus, warm, light tannins. Finish Long and warm, medium intense, lightly dry, fruits, faint herbs, light licorice, faint leather.

Another great NY94, a true coconut-vanilla bomb. On the palate velvety, full-bodied. Already a lot of wood, but that doesn't bother me here at all. The alcohol is present, could have been integrated a bit better for my taste, hence 0.1 points deduction, that was better done in other bottlings.

8,6:On the nose, the first impression we get is estery with overripe tropical fruits like banana, mango, with roasted wood and notes from it like burnt sugar, caramel, nuts, vanilla and toasted coconut. The spices are warm and sweet with cinnamon, so we might think of a winter rum. On aeration, the fruits become dried and citrusy, cocoa is released, some pear and molasses is more intense. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is syrupy with caramelized roasted wood with sweet spices and toasted coconut, roasted nuts, vanilla, toffee and leather. After a while, it becomes dry, a bit bitter with resinous wood, dark chocolate and herbal molasses, the fruits are yellow bourbony and creamy with ripe banana. Very balanced. 8,6:The finish is woody, dry, tannic and roasted with caramel, vanilla, nuts and coconut. In direct comparison with the Samaroli NY94 on equal footing. Surprisingly much fruit on the nose, especially dried mango and vanilla. On the palate very intense and also fruity. For me personally, upper mid-range of the NY94.

Needs a lot of time to open up. Coconut, vanilla, chocolate caramel. Little funk or ester to be felt on the nose. Very spicy and full-bodied on the palate. You can clearly notice the long aging here... quite woody and bitter (not disturbing as I find it).

Excellent representative of the 1994s. Super nicely rounded, the alcohol is nicely integrated too. Great coconut notes. The fruitiness could maybe be a bit better. But the New Yarmouth 1994s are just always fun.

New Yarmouth lineup. The nose has something of pastry. Maybe it's the vanilla. The taste wonderfully balanced. Nicely caramelized. A really great rum and my highlight of the evening. I have to buy it again. A dream. The second tasting confirms the 8.7

Once again a very very good representative of the NY94! Compared to my personal benchmark RA94 maybe a bit less intense, shorter finish. But all complaining at a high level!

An expressive 1994 with a nice coconut touch, I recommend giving "him" some time. Very spicy representative with extremely stable tannins. A bit of Demerara flow accompanies the aftertaste. A stable rum from the 94 range.

Read full review →Mega nose and also very very good taste. Mango, coconut, roasted notes and spices, leather. The finish is long with fitting and for me not disturbing tannins. But the bitter notes could be too much for some. I find them perfectly fitting.
