Un assemblage de rhums plus âgés que l’édition Prélude (5 à 12 ans), et cela se ressent dans la finesse et la profondeur des arômes déployés. On a ici une panoplie d’arômes affûtés, qui vont des épices (réglisse, muscade) aux fruits tropicaux, en passant par le boisé toasté, les noix, la canne à sucre, les herbes aromatiques et le beurre. Le profil est rond, structuré et bien élaboré. La complexité et la délicatesse sont encore plus perceptibles en bouche. La palette s’étoffe avec des notes de tabac, de chocolat noir légèrement amer, mais aussi de notes de miel et d’agrumes qui complètent les épices et le bois au palais. L’alcool est très bien intégré, car malgré un degré relativement bas, on perçoit tous les aspects d’un profil qui a été sûrement élaboré avec le plus grand soin. La finale est particulièrement longue, avec des notes herbacées, une facette plus sombre sur le fût, les noix, le café et le cuir, mais aussi des épices douces et des agrumes qui complètent le jus de canne. Une très belle surprise, sûrement sous-côtée de part le marketing (un nom élaboré sur une belle carafe n’est pas toujours bon signe) et pour un prix raisonnable.
