Coconut is the surprise here — soft, almost suntan-lotion coconut sitting on top of the grassy agricole base, with light vanilla and citrus behind it. One taster caught a "Lipbalm and Vaseline" note on the nose too. The palate runs thinner than the aroma promises, fresh and vegetal with a short, slightly bitter finish. A fun bottle from a distillery that closed back in the 90s.

Un nez clair, à la fois végétal et même floral, mais aussi un peu terreux et avec une légère olive. La bouche est moins riche que le nez et semble un peu dilué. Quelques fruits, de la fraîcheur végétale. La finale est courte avec une petite amertume.

#6420 01.03.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while listening to Andy Judge on Spotify. A very good mixer rum that can also be enjoyed as a sipper. Fruity with coconut and some vanilla int he grassy profile.

Bottle tasted on the occasion of sharing experiences from Guadeloupe and Marie-Galante at La Casa de la Havana Vieja in Prague on 13.5.2026. Interesting stories from distilleries were told by Martin Svojgr, Pavel Ungr, Lukáš Dvořák, and Martin Holuša.

Not sure what year this is other than pre 1994--thanks to Yaro! Lipbalm and Vaseline kind of aroma on the nose. Soft coconut, light vanilla. Some agricole grassiness. Water white pour. Some sharp booze on the finish but I suspect this has mellowed over the years. More coconut, some florals in the mouth. Some earthiness on finish, which is fairly long. Fun to try for sure.
