Most tasters agree on the shape here: a gorgeous, fruity nose that the palate can't quite match. Ripe banana, mango and papaya come through soft and honeyed, with young oak and gentle spice behind. Far from the stereotype of Jamaican rums, this Worthy Park is surprisingly smooth. The nose is made up of exotic fruits (papaya, pineapple, banana, mango), young oak and mild spices. However, it reveals a medicinal, floral and aromatic fragrance of thyme and violet that is very pleasant and surprising. The attack on the palate is very soft, suave and honeyed. The sweetness of cane, candied fruit and tropical fruit is very present on the palate. Impossible to detect the 54.5% underneath this sweetness. Chamomile and sweet spices (vanilla) complete the profile. The finish is the closest thing to Jamaican terroir, with a hint of esters and tannins hidden behind caramel, sugar, honey and candied, gourmet flavors. Exotic fruits are also present, along with spices and a less pronounced woodiness. A rather surprising and very drinkable profile, which will surely act as a gateway for neophytes to more rustic rums.

👃 Dominance of tropical fruits but not the high esters kind from other well-known Jamaican distilleries. Here, the fruits are just ripe, candied, vibrant. Low funk, green apple, plenty of tropical fruits, honey sweetness, floral freshness, low ester, vanilla, soft and elegant. 😋 Tropical fruits in a basket, banana, mango, papaya, pineapple, they are between fresh and candied, young woody, fruit tree flowers, soft spices and vanilla, sweetness and roundness. ⛳ Medium, balanced, low ester of tropical and orchard fruits, vanilla, light woodiness, a caramelized fruit side with sugar (almost jam actually) which is the common thread of the tasting. 💡 Worthy Park remains a good entry point to discover Jamaica without jumping straight into the big Hampden/Long Pond/New Yarmouth and their high ester levels. Easily drinkable, accessible, well-integrated alcohol, no headache.

#6310 05.02.2026 Relaxing with a few samples warming up for The Village tomorrow. This will be my first time to attend and they should have a nice selection of rums. The nose is amazing on the bottling and it would have been nice if the palate could tag along,. Nice and fruity with some nice smootheness to it. Berries, spice, mint and wood balance pretty well with the ABV.

I did a quasi blindtaste with three WP rums: Rum Runner 2006 54,5%. Hab. Velier 2007 59% WPL. OB Conquete 2005 53% WPL. I knew I liked the Velier so I wanted to test it against similar rums. This will be the first round, I’m interested in knowing which is the WP in my collection I like the most. C: Dark gold. N: The best nose! Especially if you like sweet dark fruits. Peaches and apricot syrap. Sweet fumes, a touch of coffe and milk. A nose that reminds me of a Brut du Fut Bielle. Lovely! M: Here is were the rum looses all its potencial and vigour. It feels a bit uninspired compared to the beautiful nose. The peaches comes through and I get coffee present in column still rums. F: Short with some spices. A bit flat. Water: It got better. I find it very good, very pleasant, but a little "light" on the usual WP aromas. The alcohol is very well integrated, it's pleasant to drink but lacks character. now it's still a pleasant juice to drink

The nose is magnificent: floral, fruity, you want to dive into it! The palate is unfortunately more discreet but in the same vein as the nose. A sweeter character appears. The finish is a bit short with a slight woodiness.
