Very fruity on the nose, large share of pastry and chocolate notes. Further back then slightly medicinal to overripe. Exciting nose for the price range. The warmer it gets, the more the pastry notes come to the forefront. They are not sweet, but come through very organically and aromatically. Grandma's oat cookies, somewhere in that direction. Relatively sweet, but fitting the chocolate aromas. Doesn't get cloying, feels overall very nicely balanced. Jamaica is a bit short, but makes the blend very accessible - and that's probably what it was about here. Very well done, great price-performance ratio. Flensburger school at its best.

A blend of FRC from light Barbados and heavy Jamaica rum at 40%, aged for 5 years. Neither the two rum types nor the alcohol content are harmoniously combined. It seems like you taste all 3 combinations at the same time but separately. I think it's poorly crafted. Conclusion: Better to have each rum type on its own.

Edit: Found the remaining sample and destroyed it with cola. Now way too sweet for me and therefore downgraded. Basically not badly made, what bothers me personally is that it’s been sweetened and thus becomes a bit too sweet. Recommended as a beginner because it has a fair price and nicely bridges Barbados and Jamaica.

#4573 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit Nose Fruity with light roasted wood, sweet, light marzipan and some caramel. Palate Oily, light roasted wood, fruity, spices, light medicinal note. Finish Short to medium, wood, dried fruit, light chocolate, faint caramel. A rum that I think many beginners might be able to drink. I'd probably use it in a Coca Cola.

Very nice aromas in the smell, lots of nuts with fruits and even some esters. In taste then also very multi-layered and complex. A little sweetness. I have to say a successful door of the advent calendar. I like it. Unfortunately very heavily diluted. More percent would definitely have raised this rum to a good 80s rating.

Compared to the older Barbados & Jamaica bottling from the Flensburg Rum Company, this one shows a bit more on the nose, leaning towards gingerbread. On the palate similar, with cinnamon. But overall flatter. Little fruit from the Jamaica portion.

Very balanced blend from Barbados with coconut and vanilla paired with tropical fruits and a slight funk, leaning towards banana but not too pronounced, from Jamaica. Mild, round, slightly sweet with a bit of oak elegantly in the background. Drinks: - Neat: 4/5

It's easy to drink. Reminds me of speculoos. The first sip is tasty, but then you have to stop. Not intense. Great for an advent calendar but not for the rest of the year. For me, the sweetish taste is too present. Few other nuances. Little depth. I would have wished for more body with Barbados as well. J doesn't always have to be present, but it shouldn't be reduced to just the finish either.

Very fruity, a bit sharp and alcoholic at first, but in the finish the tropical notes of mango and papaya are clearly noticeable. For me, unfortunately, a bit too alcoholic and too sharp at the start, it could definitely be smoother. It feels like the alcohol isn't very well integrated.
