Fair rating Village'25 Nuremberg Tasted at Emile's Catawiki stand. Nice to be able to taste such an old piece again. For an HLFC it already has good funk. I really like it and in my opinion somewhat underrated.

10.02.2012 Nice little private tasting with a few friends in the back of this old bar. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light wood, banana, overripe, pineapple, vegetal, faint leather, light tea, light ester. Palate Warm, wood, fruity, lightly bitter, orange, caramel, light grass, light ester. Finish Medium to long, wood, fruits, citrus, faint chocolate.

Bottle Market Bremen October 2024. A really nice Hampden here. On the nose the typical ester smell, also tropical fruits. On the palate also tropical fruits like pineapple and also lots of ester. Delicious.

Didn’t really blow me away. Quite a lot of citrus and otherwise not particularly interesting. But I have no idea how long the bottle had been open. Tried at Catawiki at the Village in Nuremberg.

Very intense Hampden. Classic profile but offers simply everything that Hampden stands for. For me a sure thing. Great to be able to taste it at the rarities booth.

Hampden, legendary Jamaican distillery, which besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery you can feel wild esters, after which your whole body soaks in the scent of yellow tropical fruit - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

Considering the date it was bottled, it is bottled at an unusually high ABV. And despite the lower ester content making the whole thing seem very calm and round, the alcohol is very well integrated.

Really balanced and pleasant sipper. It think that this mark from Hampden might be the right choice for tasting the real Jamaican funk, without being overwhelmed by rotten fruits and meaty flavors. A nice addition to everyone’s collection!
