Don't let the 66.2% scare you off — several tasters note the heat sits surprisingly well integrated for a cask-strength Hampden. This is the gentler HLCF mark: real Jamaican ester and funk, but leaning on ripe pineapple, mango and marzipan rather than rotten fruit or meat. Light in colour, a touch of salt and citrus. One reviewer called it the right choice for "tasting the real Jamaican funk" without being overwhelmed.

Sehr intensiver Hampden. Klassisches Profil aber bietet einfach alles was Hampden ausmacht. Für mich eine Bank. Toll es am Raritäten stand verkosten zu können.

Messebewertung Village'25 Nürnberg Bei Emile am Catawiki Stand verkostet. Schön so ein altes Teil nochmal verkosten zu können. Für einen HLFC hat er schon gut funk. Mir gefällt er wirklich sehr gut und m.E. etwas unterbewertet.

Bottle Market Bremen Oktober 2024. Ein wirklich schöner Hampden hier. In der Nase der typische Estergeruch, außerdem tropische Früchte. Am Gaumen ebenfalls tropische Früchte wie Ananas und ebenfalls viel Ester. Lecker.

10.02.2012 Nice little private tasting with a few friends in the back of this old bar. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light wood, banana, overripe, pineapple, vegetal, faint leather, light tea, light ester. Palate Warm, wood, fruity, lightly bitter, orange, caramel, light grass, light ester. Finish Medium to long, wood, fruits, citrus, faint chocolate.

Really balanced and pleasant sipper. It think that this mark from Hampden might be the right choice for tasting the real Jamaican funk, without being overwhelmed by rotten fruits and meaty flavors. A nice addition to everyone’s collection!

Hat mich jetzt eher nicht so umgehauen. Relativ viel Zitrus und auch sonst nicht besonders interessant. Habe aber auch keine Ahnung wie lange die Flasche offen war. Probiert bei Catawiki auf der Village in Nürnberg.
