Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (Collection Antipodes, LMDW) 2008
Most tasters rate this high but argue over where it sits among the Chairman's specials — some find it the best of the bunch, others say it loses presence next to the Kirsch edition. What everyone agrees on: ripe tropical fruit (mango, pineapple), citrus, floral notes and a "schön schmutzig" dirty streak of wax, varnish and olives. Pot-still St. Lucia at full strength, complex and warm.
- Ripe tropical fruit
- Floral and complex
- Long warm finish

How does Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (Collection Antipodes, LMDW) 2008 taste?
Aggregated from 51 community reviews.
Fruity, dirty St. Lucia pot still at strength Loved for its fruity, floral, slightly dirty St. Lucia character. The catch: at 59.3% the alcohol takes ten or twenty minutes to settle, and a few rank it just below sibling releases.

Impressive complexity, almost everything takes place here. Clearly floral hints, fresh tropical fruits, tea, barrel, light roasted aromas, elegant spices...this should show the aromatic complexity of the St. Lucia profile close to the optimum. I like it very, very much.

Spicy and strong. Good chairmans 🥃

Nice and dirty and very tasty. Wood, fruit, dirt, plastic ... it's all there. Really very good

Typical, powerful, very good Lucia profile!

Crosstasting Saint Lucia:Chairmans German Ed. (RX11467) vs.Chairmans Kirsch (RX15045) vs.Chairmans Antipodes (RX13430):By far the fruitiest nose. Very sweet with vanilla. Would guess from the nose storage in bourbon barrel without looking. Interesting how different the three are on the nose.Again a tiny bit worse integrated alcohol than the Kirsch, but still better than the Germans. Also on the palate a great fruit note, which both predecessors in the form did not have. More tropical fruit here, especially mango.Picking a winner here is insanely difficult. All are super; and super different. For me, the Antipodes crosses the finish line first with a photo finish, closely followed by the Kirsch. And only a little behind comes the Germans.

A decent rum, rich in aroma and taste. Don't look for sweetness, but rather a variety of fruits and flowers.

In direct comparison to the Kirsch, the Antipodes falls off, although it is also a very good Chairman's. It lacks a bit of presence

An interesting floral note plays on the palate, which I could also perceive in the Velier Providence.

Not full on par with the other single special releases. Nice and warm on the palate with a long finish. I like the light floral note from nose to finish. The empty glass still has strong flavours the day after.
