The nose is the fruitiest of the bunch — mango, citrus, vanilla — while the palate goes "schön schmutzig": wood, funk, varnish, olives, spice. One reviewer calls it "wild" in the best way. The 59.3% heat needs a few minutes to settle, but it rewards the wait.

Impressive complexity, almost everything takes place here. Clear floral hints, fresh tropical fruits, tea, cask, light roasted aromas, elegant spices...this should show the aromatic complexity with the simultaneous balance of the typical St. Lucia profile close to the optimum. I like it very much.

Not full on par with the other single special releases. Nice and warm on the palate with a long finish. I like the light floral note from nose to finish. The empty glass still has strong flavours the day after.

Vegetal fermentation and roofing tar on the nose and the wood supports. The entry on the palate is balanced, still with a tar side and the cask. The fruits are definitely there, but in the background. The finish is long, tasty and balanced. The tar remains even longer.

In direct comparison to the Kirsch, the Antipodes falls off, although it is also a very good Chairman's. It lacks a bit of presence

Crosstasting Saint Lucia:Chairmans German Ed. (RX11467) vs.Chairmans Kirsch (RX15045) vs.Chairmans Antipodes (RX13430):By far the fruitiest nose. Very sweet with vanilla. Would guess from the nose storage in bourbon barrel without looking. Interesting how different the three are on the nose.Again a tiny bit worse integrated alcohol than the Kirsch, but still better than the Germans. Also on the palate a great fruit note, which both predecessors in the form did not have. More tropical fruit here, especially mango.Picking a winner here is insanely difficult. All are super; and super different. For me, the Antipodes crosses the finish line first with a photo finish, closely followed by the Kirsch. And only a little behind comes the Germans.

A bottling that showcases the full extent of its island's expertise. The nose shows a beautiful aromatic intensity, supported by ripe exotic fruits (pineapple, banana), citrus that takes center stage with aeration, rather noble spices (vanilla, nutmeg, cardamom), and a floral and medicinal side that’s not too overpowering. The wood is well integrated and the whole is vigorous and harmonious. The palate is complete and flavorful. Citrus and tropical fruits lead the charge, followed by medicinal notes, then the warmth of spices (chili, cinnamon, vanilla) and wood. There’s a bit of freshness thanks to earthy and floral notes in the background. The texture is smooth but remains lively on the palate. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is relatively long, with notes of tea and flowers, but also a spicy warmth that gives character to the profile: it’s spicy, licorice, and nicely roasted at the end. The palate is drying but keeps beautiful aromas clinging to the mouth’s walls. A great release from Saint Lucia that combines character and mastery in its flavors.

The scent is quite strong on the fruity side with slight alcohol and wood. The taste is quite alcoholic. The aftertaste is long and becomes more pleasant with notes of wood, licorice but still with a bit of alcohol.

For fans of St. Lucia, this is almost perfection. Big, strong, round, and with all the signature Chairman’s flavors present. Not my favorite profile, but I still salute a very well-made rum. Very pleasant.

Honestly, I can't quite understand the relatively poor ratings. Another very nice rum from St. Lucia, in my view one of the most underrated distilleries in the world. Compared to the reference GotA, it's a bit less complex, but still a wonderful flavor profile at a decent price. Edit: I have to raise a few points here again. The dirty notes, which are particularly pronounced here, harmonize wonderfully with the floral, fruity, and woody notes. A great cask!

Viscous in the glass but not too much, very decisive and fragrant on the nose with lots of fruit and many spices. I struggled a bit with the alcohol in the first ten minutes, in my opinion I didn’t find it very balanced and even after some time it is still very persistent and pungent. After about twenty minutes it becomes more nuanced and I find it much more drinkable and much more evolved on the nose. The maturation in the barrel is immediately noticeable from the color and the very complex aromas. The fairly high strength makes it very persistent but in the initial phase I didn’t like the integration of the alcohol very much, it improves over time but I don’t find it perfectly integrated. Overall it is very pleasant with many evolutions both on the nose and on the palate. Excellent dram, I highly recommend it.

A great bottle. Tasted it on a blind tasting competition. Was by far the best. Lots of varnish. Citrus. Olives. Wax. Herbal notes. Lovely bottle. טעימה היה חלק מטעימה עיוורת מלפני שנתיים. היה הבקבוק הטוב בחבורה. מלא בהדרים. עשבים. לקה. זיתים. מאוד חזק ועשיר. בקבוק שהוא קניה חזקה. בחינתי! החדשים מגוונים יותר ואחד מהם גם יותר טוב מזה לדעתי. אבל מי שרוצה משהו פראי... אז זה הבקבוק לבחור.
