#4007 This only gets better. Slightly darker in colour than the Louis & Charles. Fruity with nice wood and light spices. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass reveals some minty notes and the chocolate is clearer.

Surprisingly floral entry, dominated on the nose by a heavy floral aroma, citrus fruits and heavy earthy as well as fresher grassy notes. On the palate, typical agricole sweetness and a pronounced roastiness join the flavor profile of the nose, the rum moves between agricole rum and malt whisky. Quite appealing, not an ordinary profile - but unfortunately not a taste experience that fully grabs me.

Really nice Isautier. Starts with a very citrus fruit-heavy nose. Also some chocolate and wood. On the palate first agricole, but only lightly, you can tell it's not a pure agricole. Otherwise some wood and chocolate.

Super interesting taste and the middle brother of the Louis & Charles, Alfred, and Antoinette trio. The nose has an earthy almost muddy scent that is not disagreeable at all. The palate follows through but also adds some spice. A unique flavor and really not bad at all.

Nice palate, a beautiful slightly caramelized cane, spices, candied fruit, more or less boat glue depending on aeration, a slight menthol veil. A palate that is a bit withdrawn, the markers are a bit too diluted I find. An empyreumatic woodiness, more spices, a side of overripe grape eau-de-vie. Finish quite short continuing the aromas present on the palate. Nose on top, palate and finish below par.

I sampled this rum in my search for something not too heavy on the palate to accompany my cigar smoking. This is a very nice lightly woody rum which fits the profile but it didn’t convince me completely.
