La Confrérie du Rhum Clément Selection Exclusive (Batch 2) 2015
Most tasters land in the same happy place here: a Clément agricole with real backbone, more woody and spicy than the softer house style. Expect roasted oak, dried fruit, nutmeg and a touch of cocoa, with the 59.9% woven in well. A couple of drinkers find it a bit hot, dry and one-note, but far more call it their favorite Clément yet.

I just got two bottles of this limited release and I'd say it's pretty good. I scored this one a bit lower but price to quality is very good. Lightly fruity with spices and roasted wood in near perfect harmony. A well balanced rum and I recommend leaving the empty glass for a while and then whiff it again because that is a nice experience.

#1713 16-01-2026 - Rate 7.4 Kevin has hooked us up with some classic agricole rums for a tasting. This one was the second. Nose of raisins, dried fruit, wood and a floral note. Palate of dried fruits, caramel, wood and with a dry and floral note. Medium finish dominated by tropical fruits and wood
Review by Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓
Round thing! Clear, but pleasant wood influence, alcohol very well integrated. In all respects clearly better than the parallel tasted Saint James Les Ephémeres No. 7. 😳Who still wants a bottle of the Clément barrel selected by Benoit Bail, should hurry, at least in Germany, for which only 42 bottles were provided.Buy and drink recommendation. 👍

Christmas meeting 2023 Wichtel sample. Thank you mto75, it was very tasty, I liked it very much. A nice blend of wood, spices and fruit. I would probably never have tried it on my own, thanks for broadening my horizons.
Review by mto75
Was already excited about the Batch#2...very nice balance on the nose: young wood, herbs, caramel. Similar notes on the palate, plus some alcoholic spiciness (but everything still in the green zone). In the finish rather dry, and besides toasty, also the typical vegetal notes of young Agricole.
Review by Johannes
Very nice, round Agricole with a good balance of wood, nut, caramel and floral notes.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A more balanced, dry and authentic profile than Confrérie du Rhum's Batch 1. The nose is elegant and structured, with beautiful fruity notes (mango, apricots and raisins) and shimmering spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper). Woody, toasty, chocolatey and lightly caramelized notes lend smoothness and gourmandise. On the palate, the rum is more supple and varied in flavor than Batch 1, which was much more concentrated. While there's the typical woodiness and warm spices, honeyed flavors, yellow fruit, dried fruit and sugarcane counterbalance to broaden the aromatic spectrum. The alcohol is extremely well integrated. The finish is very long, with wood tannins, tropical fruit, raisins, sugarcane and spices. The warmth and spiciness come through on the finish. More open than Batch 1, but less explosive, this cuvée remains a worthy, high-quality successor to this Confrérie du Rhum special cuvee.

I can't smell much anymore, my nose is blocked. But some wood and caramel are unmistakable. On the palate, mostly wood as well. You can also taste a bit of vanilla. But overall, a very good rum.
Review by BjörnNi 🥃
Nice and round. Wood, nut, and floral characteristics.
Review by Joachim Guger
Caramel and honey, nice cocoa notes, fruity and sweet. Balanced, round, good integration of alcohol. In the mouth it bites then times, it tingles despite a few drops of water neat. Woody, caramel and vanilla. A very good Agricole.
Review by Rene Pfeiffer
Good matured Agricole. On the palate, the alcohol tingles nicely but doesn't bother me.
Review by Eric Frechin
Tasted blind in a lineup. On the nose I hesitated to say it was an agricole because of some gourmand notes. But on the palate no more hesitation, I even thought for a moment of Depaz. The finish is quite persistent and remains very pleasant.
Review by Godspeed
A great success. If he still had a few bottles to buy I would have, but they're all sold out. After tasting long long long long, good integration of watts. The flavors stayed in my mouth for at least 15 minutes after tasting. Very good, but as always with Clément rums there's a certain neutrality to their taste that doesn't bother me but doesn't delight me either.
Review by Maxime Clr 🇫🇷
A bit too woody for me, and not a fan of the spicy side but it remains indulgent, even pastry-like! Caramel, honey and nutmeg follow.
Review by Jakob
Very nice selection. Crisp spicy notes, rich cocoa and hazelnut notes, oak wood, some fresh nutmeg as well as sweet tropical fruits and citrus peels. The alcohol content is noticeable but seems well embedded in the overall profile to me. Very good.
Review by Mike H.
I like that this agricole has a nice woody taste and isn’t too vegetal.
Review by Fabrice Rouanet
What character! Perfectly balanced with excellent aromatic richness, the alcohol is perfectly integrated. The finish is of magnificent length. Edit of May 16, 2023: Still as charmed by this rhum vieux agricole as ever!
Review by Leo Krüper
Quite sharp-edged and strong in character. Lots of barrel influence.
Review by TheJackDrop
Clearly more powerful and complex than its little brother batch 1. More woody, more red fruits, more spices. However, it burns strongly in the mouth, a bit dry on the finish, and a bit alcoholic.
Review by Julien Ries
The nose is very pleasant: fruity with dried apricot, tongue (?), it also brings the indulgence of chocolate. The spices are not left out with Christmas spices (cinnamon, vanilla). An old dusty wood comes back on the second nose and when swirling the liquid in the glass. The strength is also felt. The entry on the palate is very lively with a lot of warmth, which is unusual for a Clément. Empyreumatic notes of burnt wood add to the pepper. The fruitiness is more discreet on dried fruits. The finish softens on milk chocolate and tobacco. It's a pleasure to drink a Clément with character! The finish is moderately long, with nutmeg and black pepper spices.

Excellent Agricole!!!
Review by Pierangelo Pianta
Very seductive nose Clear exotic fruit, caramel, slight licorice wood, Lime... Complex nose, fresh, fruity and woody... very complete profile The palate is precise, well integrated alcohol, agricole!, in my opinion mono dynamic: little fruit (both dry from the end tasting and initial sweetness), lots of agricole, wood; pleasant
Review by Lot-NAS
My favorite Clement so far, drinks dangerously well despite the complexity and scant 60%.

🥃 Clément CDR 2015 – 59.9% CDR Selection, second batch chosen at Clément. Vintage 2015, 5 years in new barrel with extreme heat, bottled cask strength (1000 bottles). A rum that was very well liked: perfectly integrated alcohol, controlled woodiness, a nice blend of wood, spices and fruits. A very nice selection by Jerry and Benoît. This one will continue its life in Jimmy's hands!
Review by Johnny Rumcask
Nice aged Agricole, which unfortunately can't quite keep up with some of the excellent bottlings of the Rare Cask series. Dark strong herbal notes, some wood, alcohol is well integrated. For a better rating I miss a bit of complexity, a good but not a very good rum.
Review by Jus Liens
I just tasted two Foursquare in the same session. I prefer the Clément. Deeper, more complex, more refined. You find the taste of wood and vanilla but the cane is better respected and I have more emotion with this juice. A great juice. Really.
Review by Buddudharma
Coherent Agricole, somewhat superior to the RA (#13169) due to better integrated alcohol and slightly higher complexity.
Review by Fanou Le Rhumier
Magnificent success combining complexity, power and roundness.
Review by Matthieu L
Excellent, fruity attack, evolving into dark pastry chocolate then smoky notes.
Review by RumRhush
For a young very concentrated, bravo the brotherhood.

Review by Alexandre Van Ham
Once again a very nice selection, it needs to be aerated just like its big brother. Thanks to Benoît and Jerry!
Review by laudhar
A nice rum with character. Well-integrated alcohol. Roasted wood, pastry and chocolate aromas, spices with a little peppery side.
Review by Pascal Gwada
Tasted blind in the advent calendar, I'm surprised by the enthusiasm it generates, which I don't share. Nose quite average, woody. Mouth strong attack then intense and pleasant woody aroma but quite short, and I don't find the alcohol integrated. The wood remains in the mouth but alone, which is common and easy for wood. So not a favorite for me, sorry.
Review by Motvind
Caramel, vanilla and hay. The taste is spicy, flavors of hay and caramel. Long aftertaste.
