Chairman‘s Reserve Master's Selection (Berry Bros & Rudd) 2005

8.9/10
Rated by Johannes, BjörnNi 🥃 & 15 more

Mango and dried fruit on the nose, then a dry, woody, tannic palate carried by leather, clove and a little caramel sweetness. Distilled in 2005 at Saint Lucia Distillers on the Vendome still and aged 15 years at 61%, this is a cask-strength Chairman's that several tasters rank among the best of the vintage. A few note it runs astringent and a touch lean on body.

  • Mango-rich nose
  • Well-integrated alcohol
  • Long warm finish

How does Chairman‘s Reserve Master's Selection (Berry Bros & Rudd) 2005 taste?

Aggregated from 17 community reviews.

Dry, woody, mango-led Saint Lucia at cask strength Most call it one of the better 2005 Chairman's bottlings — intense, fruity and well-balanced, with the high ABV nicely tucked in. The main gripe: it leans dry and astringent.

Top rum

Extremely good vendome! Intense, fresh, oily, dirty and extremely long finish. Fat!

Long aged rum from the Vendome Still. Beautiful profile, with berry fruits, wood, sweetness and spices. For me personally a little too astringent, but still a rum at an insanely high level. Vendome can do no wrong!
