Mango up front, then black tea, oak and drying tannins with a little leather and clove on the finish. This is a cask-strength 15-year Saint Lucia from the Vendome still — intense but well-balanced, with the 61% ABV tucked in surprisingly well. Several tasters call it the best Chairman's they've had. A touch dry and astringent, and a couple wanted more body.

Extremely good vendome! Intense, fresh, oily, dirty and extremely long finish. Fat! One of the best of the 2005 vintage so far... really cool stuff. Berry bros & rudd really delivers at full level here.

#5439 30.06.2025 Enjoying some samples at home. Nose Medium intense, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light tannins, light caramel, faint orange, light varnish. Palate Medium intense, warm, wood, light roasted, light tannins, light leather, clove, light earthy, light orange. Finish Long and warm, wood, light orange, light leather, tannins, light caramel, light dried fruit . Empty glass Light leather, caramel, faint chocolate, clove, light tobacco.

Very fruity on the nose. Great mango tones. Intense black tea flavor. I normally know this more from rums from Trinidad. I like it very much. The alcohol is very nicely integrated. Top rum

Wow, what a great bottling! Chairman's always has treasures in store, but this one is a real stunner! Mango meets black tea and eucalyptus/mint. In addition, there's plenty of cask, tannins, but everything is still within pleasant limits. Very multi-layered and complex, it just lacks a bit of fullness. Otherwise really delicious!

Magnificent complex nose that has just the right amount of aromas that could otherwise be a bit unpleasant (e.g. smoke). Balanced and round, really enjoyable. On the palate, as expected, really dry, spicy, bitter and woody, but somewhat balanced by vanilla, fruit and a bit of sweetness. The best Chairman I've tasted so far.

Fruity freshness paired with wood influences, which provide for gripping aromatics, but remain very balanced. I lack a bit of depth, which comes through, for example, the mint and even more accentuated tea notes in other releases to bear. Still very pleasant to drink. Successful release.

Long aged rum from the Vendome Still. Beautiful profile, with berry fruits, wood, sweetness and spices. For me personally a little too astringent, but still a rum at an insanely high level. Vendome can do no wrong!

Could also pass for a representative from Guyana or Barbados from the nose alone. Alcohol very well integrated.
