Rather average overall. Even after breathing for over an hour, the alcohol is still quite present and the taste is not particularly complex... a little caramel, milk chocolate and coconut. just ok for the price.

Edit: tried again from the freshly opened bottle. For the price back then, really okay. The Foursquare markers are there. Makes a good figure as a mixer. Too alcoholic neat. Unfortunately not as good as expected. Rather one of the worse Foursquare. You can sip it in between. But I think it will meet its end as a Cuba Libre. As announced, ended up as a mixer. Still a good rum for the price.

Relatively mixed I would say. Nose: caramel, vanilla, alcohol, little to no fruit. Rather monotonous and somewhat angular in the mouth, although it has a good mouthfeel. Rather short finish. For the money, I would rather go for an ECS

#4724 12.05.2024 Relaxing at home. Nose Fresh, alcoholic, light caramel, coconut, light pineapple, faint chocolate. Palate Warm, alcoholic, fruits, coconut, light chocolate, faint caramel, tannins, light wood. Finish Medium to long, wood, alcoholic, light caramel, faint chocolate, light citrus. The empty glass has stronger chocolate and light herbs. ABV is pretty badly integrated even after a long rest it is still very present. With some water the ABV will smoothen out and more destinct flavours will appear.

7,9:On the nose, alcoholic, glue, slightly pungent, barrel impact is obvious, toasted wood notes like pastry, caramel, quite thin, coconut, dried apricots, raisins, banana, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, citrus fruits arise, cinammon and black pepper, a bit burnt tones, caramelized burnt sugar, some cardboard, metallic patina and molasses with black tea. 8:On the palate, the attack is alcoholic, intense, hot, dry with sweet toasted wood notes like burnt sugar, caramel, roasted nuts, leather and milk chocolate, spicy with pepper, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, fruity with coconut, banana, dried apricots, raisins and citrus fruits, as molasses is earthy with tobacco, dark with black tea. 7,7:The finish is short, dry and tannic, alcoholic, with toasted oak notes like coffee, caramel, spicy vanilla, green pepper, fruity with dried fruits and coconut, citrus fruits..

There are better Foursquare rums. Remains quite alcoholic and is clearly less intense in the flavors like other Foursquare. Overall, solid to good.

I still find this ''Foursquare'' okay, but unfortunately nothing more. I find it hard to enjoy neat and although adding a lot of water reduces the aggressiveness, the alcoholic sharpness remains and no new facets are released. That's a pity, as there are some nice approaches.

Barbados profile. But weak ... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum appreciated especially by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and seek a mild, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.
