An der Nase trop. Früchten, Marzipan, etwas Olive, Ester, etwas Klebstoff, leicht butterig, dazu Vergorenes/Saures. Am Gaumen passiert mir dann aber einfach zu wenig. Etwas Ester, florale Noten, wenig Frucht, etwas Vanille, leicht adstringend. ABV ist gut eingebunden.

Quite medicinal, alcoholic and virgin oaky on the nose, behind which gingerbread and mirabelle plums and other stone fruits are discreetly hidden. Aromatically, it is then clear what the matter is: Bourbon cask but how! Surprisingly little of the Hampden can still be tasted, I would be interested to know what kind of fresh grenade bourbon cask was used here? Sesame, honeycomb, beeswax, virgin oak and vanilla. Basically a very tasty Hampden rum for the US market, but the bourbon almost steals the show from the Hampden! 😄 On the other hand, the finish has this overly delicious sesame banana honey note that I really celebrate!

Mir gefallen diese HLCF's sehr. Dieser hier wie immer sehr geschmeidig. Alkohol hintenraus sehr stark. Schöner runder tropischer Hampden. Preis leider hoch, aber auch das ist nichts Neues.

War sehr froh, diese Spezialabfüllung für New York ergattert zu haben. Insgesamt ein Recht entspannter Hampden mit typischem Aromenprofil. Aber insgesamt hatte ich mir davon etwas mehr erwartet. Für den Preis viel zu teuer, da gibt es für weit weniger Geld genauso tolle HLCFs. Braucht aber definitiv Zeit um die Aromen zu entfalten.

Another HLCF from Velier... but from 2016. Overall, this one seems a bit more relaxed and smooth, but also more boring. None of the aromas particularly stand out... they all remain rather muted or restrained. Something is missing for me

Surprisingly mild for a tropically aged HLCF. The fresh tropical fruits remain, but are given a spicy counterpart of peppery baking spices and subtle wood, as well as a nice residual sweetness that is reminiscent of marzipan alongside fruit sweetness. Pleasant, but in my opinion a comparatively weak HV Hampden release that doesn't come close to the first HLCF from 2010.

typische Hampden Noten: Lack, etwas Ester, Klebstoff, Ananas, vergorene Früchte. Alkohol könnte besser eingebunden sein, hier merkt man einfach das vergleichsweise junge Alter. Zudem macht sich im Abgang eine leichte Bitternote breit, die störend wirkt. Entsprechend ist aus meiner Sicht auch keine höhere Wertung drin.

Anfangs wirkt die Abfüllung ein bißchen wild und alkoholisch an der Nase. Mit der Zeit legt sich die aggressive Nase. Im Mund ist er auch nicht so ganz ausgewogen, wie ich es mir vorstelle. Störend finde ich beim Abgang eine leichte bittere und säuerliche Note. Gut, aber nicht sehr gut.
