Another nice release from the Swiss bottler. The nose promises the best, old leather and Demerara sugar... The palate, however, is disappointing with a very slight off taste of rot and rancid (cask problem?) but also chocolate, caramel, and raisins. The finish is rather long, dominated by caramel and overripe banana. A rather good rum and much better on the second tasting, maybe it's oxidation? In any case, the cask problem has largely subsided.

Great nose, on the palate it can't quite keep up. Sticky stewed red fruits, dried fruits, nutty, grape sugar, cask, slight acidity, slight burnt, pastry and vanilla. Sherry has definitely left traces here, nothing from Uitvlugt comes through anymore. Nice depth combined with sweet tropical and dried fruits.

Actually, I really like the 99 Port Mourant. Unfortunately, the sherry finish has clearly taken over. The rum is still very good, but the finish is too dominant for me. Too bad! The potential is definitely there.
