It's a Barbados-Jamaica mix: smoky Jamaican notes up front, some mango and pear fruit behind, then a wall of dark spice, cinnamon heat and dry oak. Body runs on the thin side, and one taster called it "nicht so süß" — drier than most Plantations, with a sharp sweet-to-dry contrast.

Smoky Jamaica on the nose, Barbados remains relatively discreetly fruity behind it. Spicy and woody. Briefly quite sweet on the palate, then immediately woody and quite dry. A very strong contrast. This contrast generally runs through the entire, comparatively thin rum. Fruity with mango, peach and pear meets quite a lot of dark spice, cinnamony spiciness and very dry, woody notes. The dark barrel then comes through fully in the finish, together with a little funk. However, it tends to stick to the spice rather than overripe fruit. I like the series, but I also understand anyone who doesn't like this contrast at all.
