02.10.2016 - 03.10.2016 A great extended weekend with rum friends. This was a nice event and lots of space between the tables. Only problem was the level of English at some of the exhibitors. Here are the rums we tasted at the event itself, nothing truly unique but we had fun. This is the first half of the tastings. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Light, wood, light roasted, spices, light caramel, faint medicinal. Palate Light, sweet, spicy, light wood, light medicinal, caramel, pineapple. Finish Short, light wood, orange, caramel, light medicinal.

Es un ron mas para ligar que para tomar solo, agradable para tomarse toda una botella. Comprado en Venezuela, cata en Costa Rica, es una buena opcion para la coleccion. Diria q es mejor q un Havanna Club 7 o un Plantaray

Expert review by The Fat Rum Pirate

It is slightly expensive for what it is though. I could spend £25 and get a lot more for my money. It perhaps lacks a little extra oomph but all in all this a decent rum. It won't replace 1796 as a sipper but it is better than Pampero Anejo...

Santa Teresa

Avg Rating 7.4/10 24 Rums

Santa Teresa is Venezuela's oldest rum house, run by the fifth generation of the Vollmer family on a hacienda where Simon Bolivar once ratified the abolition of slavery. It distils on columns dating back to 1905 and a reinstated pot still, and ages its flagship 1796 in a solera running since 1992. Beyond the rum, it is known worldwide for Project Alcatraz, a gang-rehabilitation programme built on work and rugby.
