If you like unaged agricole-style cane juice rum, this Australian pot-still take will feel familiar. Cut grass, salty olive and a floral, vegetal streak run right through it, with banana and a little citrus on the nose. It's dry and fresh, but at 40% the alcohol reads a bit raw — several tasters flagged it as poorly integrated. An interesting, clairin-adjacent curiosity more than a polished pour.

Australia Advent Calendar 2025 (-1). A first fermented nose with fruit alcohol (kirsch), overripe banana and a hint of lime. First watery mouthfeel with sweet softness, then the aromas rise a bit. Still fruit alcohol and a fermented side, some tropical fruits. The finish is short but the banana and sweet note stay longer.

Advent calendar The Dunderhut Australia door -1. This was already quite clearly recognizable as an unaged Agricole. I didn't find it too bad. Of course, it's very vegetal, fresh, and floral with a bit of olive.

Australia Artur Calendar 2025 (-1) Typical green, grassy agricole aromas with an olive salt brine and very poorly integrated alcohol. Burn baby burn... If I had guessed completely blind, I would have definitely landed on Haiti here.

#6175 01.01.2025 Enjoying a few New Year samples getting ready for a relaxing day with leftover food and snacks. Now watching the movie "Torden" (Thunder in English) Nose Medium intense, citrus, sugarcane, berries, light herbs, banana, light grass. Palate Medium intense, peppery, light citrus, berries, sugarcane, naturally sweet, grass, faint honey, olive, light salt. Finish Short to medium, naturally sweet, berries, grass, olive, light salt. Empty glass Olive, citrus, herbs, grass, light tea.

'Prelude' from Artur's calendar. Reminds me of the Clairins, celery, olive, green pepper. On the palate herbal candy, a bit watery in the finish. Definitely an interesting start for the calendar!

Australien-Adventskalender von Artur: Recht vielschichtige Nase mit Olive, vergorenen Früchten, Salz, Zitronenschale. Am Gaumen dank der Verdünnung recht balanciert, die Aromen der Nase sind erneut vorhanden, aber deutlich gezähmt und werden durch eine leichte Süsse von Karamell und Fruchtnoten flankiert.

The nose is very similar to a Rhum Agricole. Lots of salty olives and cut grass. The palate has darker vegetal notes of tobacco. It's quite dry. The olive notes are a lot more subtle. The finish is longer than expected. Peppery and a bit grassy but it's all in the background. It's a good stab at cane juice rum from an unusual location. It isn't giving Rhum J.M anything to worry about. If it was a higher ABV it might have been nicer.

Arturs Advent calendar 2025 door -1: In a blind tasting I would definitely guess an unaged rum. Strong sugarcane influence and lots of vegetal notes. Slight citrus fruits on the nose and tropical fruits on the palate. Alcohol is strongly noticeable on the nose, on the palate not burning but poorly integrated.
