Mixes and sips both work here, though several members lean toward cocktails. It's a Barbados blend with more ester than you'd expect from the island — pineapple, melon and a touch of glue, with oak and vanilla underneath. One taster clocked "a little Jamaican funk," which gives it a fatter body than most Bajans. A couple wished it went deeper neat.

Very nice! More esters than you generally expect from Barbados, resulting in a nice, full body. The price is great. Just under 10g of sugar makes it smooth, but it doesn't taste sweet, so it's still recommended for dry rum drinkers.

Vacation Caribbean September 2026. Pub Sunshine Grill in Barbados. Had some time left before the flight, so I quickly went to the pub. One of the better ones today. I really found it relatively okay, compared to the rest here in this pub ;-)

Reminds me of Chairman's Reserve. Tropical fruits (coconut, banana,...) caramel, spicy (cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla) with bourbon geranium in the background (nose ++). All with a hint of funk for a Barbados rum, in short I love it. Given the very good value for money, it can easily be used in cocktails.

Tasted as part of the distillery tour. Unfortunately, it lacks a little depth. Fine notes of pineapple, melon and citrus. Some oak. Not a rum that is a taste sensation on its own, but well suited for mixing and cocktails.

Sweet caramel, plum, and date taste. A little bit of wood and spice, but not much. Mostly dried dark fruit and molasses.

This rum is a mix of column and pot still. Smells of caramel, coconut, mango and a little Jamaican funk. Flavor follows the smell with hints of cinnamon and dark fruit. Complex flavor profile.

A fine rum, leading with mild sweetness and overripe pineapple and gardenia flowers on the nose. Sipping opens up sweetness, oak, vanilla, and a touch of island fruit. Finish is mostly oak and some bitterness once the sweetness subsides.
