On the one hand, with a bottle price of around 2000 euros, the price-performance ratio is in the basement. On the other hand, the D.P. Port Cask Quincentennial Edition is a true revelation when you consider the pleasure for yourself and a must for every rum connoisseur and those who want to become one. The nose is dominated by fruity, sweet spice, but is pleasantly balanced. A magnificent fullness emerges on the palate. Fruity, woody and creamy notes are inspired by Christmas spices and interact in an interesting way with the warmth and spice, which can be attributed to the well-integrated 50% vol. The "juicy" port wine notes skillfully underline this well-rounded taste experience. The finish is very long, warm, fruity and spicy. Unfortunately, there are virtually no samples on the market. Nevertheless, I give this sensory firework a clear recommendation.

Despite its high price, the Don Papa Port Cask Quincentennial Edition is one of the best distillates I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. With its incredible depth and complexity, it is almost unique in the world of spirits. It combines the popular, spicy notes of Trinidad, Guyana and Venezuela with the fruitiness known from the island of Negros. Fresh as well as dried red fruits (e.g. plums) go hand in hand with Christmas spices (e.g. cloves) and meet with dark caramel, vanilla and warm wine cake on a mature, woody port wine note. The alcohol (50% vol.) is excellently integrated and only supports the spiciness. A natural molasses rum that is second to none.
